Exhibition “Waiting for a miracle” (0+)

November 28, 2022

On December 15, on the eve of the New Year and Christmas holidays, the exhibition “Waiting for a Miracle” will open on the second floor of the exhibition hall of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy, showing about 30 works of painting, graphics and decorative and applied art from the collections of the museum, the Voronezh Artists Charitable Foundation, the Gallery exhibition center soviet era” and private collections. Many of the works will be exhibited for the first time.

The exhibition covers a large period of the history of Russian fine art: from the brightest representatives of the Silver Age of Russian culture (E.A. Kiseleva, I.E. Grabar), artists of the Soviet period (A.P. Krasnov, E.P. Efanov, V.K. Komolov, K.N. Uspenskaya, V.P. Krivoruchko, Z.E. Popov, etc.) to modern authors (A. Kazhdan and Ya. Pankratova).

The New Year is perceived precisely as a children’s holiday, so the touching image of a child waiting for winter and a New Year’s miracle, captured in S.A. Tutunov’s painting “Childhood” (1960), became one of the central ones at the exhibition. Traditional children’s winter fun (snowball fights, ice mountain skiing, snowman modeling, skiing and skating) depicted in the paintings of Russian artists will bring adults back to the world of childhood, and children will be introduced to their peers who sincerely enjoy winter entertainment.

The exposition will be complemented by decorative and applied art. A pleasant surprise for adults and children will be a section dedicated to pre-revolutionary New Year’s toys.

From December 15 to December 30, anyone who comes to the exhibition will be able to send a letter to Santa Claus in Veliky Ustyug. The festive New Year mood will be created by famous poems about winter by classics of Russian poetry: S. Yesenin, S. Marshak; K. Chukovsky; A. Barto, S. Mikhalkov. Master classes and excursions with game elements are planned to be held within the framework of the exhibition. The exhibition is designed for a family audience, but is aimed at children.

The exhibition will last until January 15, 2023.

Entrance ticket – 150 rubles (single price)

Exhibition of sculpture and graphics by Fyodor Krushelnitsky “The Bronze Horseman” (12+)

November 28, 2022

On December 9 at 16:00 the exhibition of sculpture and graphics by St. Petersburg sculptor Fyodor Krushelnitsky “The Bronze Horseman” will open in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy.

The author works in the technique of bronze casting, forging and their combination. Like any great artist, he came up with his own system of pictorial signs, his own artistic language. The result of which was his bright, always recognizable style. The exhibition will include 40 sculptural and about 30 graphic works in the industrial-technocratic style.

Twelve bronze horsemen, which form the core of the exhibition-experiment by Fyodor Krushelnitsky, represent twelve independent projects of equestrian monuments. In a way, these works reveal the “working kitchen” of the master. All of them are made in the technique of casting from bronze. If the artist’s previous exhibitions were devoted mainly to the heroic era of the hammer and sickle, then the appeal to the Peter’s theme of the “Bronze Horseman” is quite new for Fyodor Krushelnitsky, and this topic has been developed by him only for the last three years.

The equestrian monument to Peter the Great – the largest and most complex – is the dominant feature of the entire exposition. The tsar, who laid the foundation of the Russian state, is depicted here riding a rampant horse at an angle of 45 degrees, supported by three points. Peter’s favorite horse, which has repeatedly saved the life of its owner, is a metaphor of Russia-Russia.

After Kazimir Malevich’s revolutionary black square, which turned the whole world of art upside down in the twentieth century, the author did not want to approach sculpture and think in plastic categories of the past. The artist must correspond to his time and epoch, even in some ways ahead of it, find a new plastic language, a new form, a new content and dramaturgy.

In addition to the works related to the Peter the Great theme and the series “The Bronze Horseman”, other revelations of the artist, who has more than 60 personal exhibitions in his arsenal, await the viewer at the exhibition.

The exhibition will last until January 15, 2023.

Entrance ticket – 250 rubles.
Discounted ticket (schoolchildren, pensioners, students) – 150 rubles.

Exhibition “Great Russian Isographs” (0+)

November 21, 2022

On December 14, the exhibition “Great Russian Isographs” from the collection of the Voronezh Regional Museum of Local Lore begins in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy.

The exhibition presents 3 paintings by the famous Voronezh artist, Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR, laureate of the Sergei Radonezhsky Prize, honorary citizen of Voronezh, public figure Vasily Pavlovich Krivoruchko: “Andrey Rublev. Trinity”, “Dionysius”, “Theophanes the Greek”.

The funds of the Voronezh Regional Museum of Local Lore contain a large collection of works by this artist on the theme of the history of Russia.

The golden age of Russian icon painting was the XV century – the time of the rise of the spiritual forces of the nation focused in the works of great artists Feofan the Greek, Andrei Rublev and Dionysius. If Theophan the Greek icon is a sermon of the Divine light, the greatness of God, then Andrei Rublev is a prayer, contemplation, deepening into the mystery of the communion of the Holy Trinity. For Dionysius, it is hymnography, music, a symphony of the highest divine spheres.

Before starting work on his paintings, Vasily Pavlovich studied Russian chronicles and historical documents. The master said: “It doesn’t seem to me – I am convinced that I personally know Andrei Rublev, Theophan the Greek, Dionysius…”. And looking at the paintings of the painter, you are completely convinced of this. Only a person close in spirit to these ancient Russian masters could so truthfully, so reliably recreate the images of the three geniuses of Russian icon painting. The name of this man is Vasily Pavlovich Krivoruchko.

The exhibition will last until December 25.
