The exhibition “war posters 1941-1945-ies from the collections of the Tambov regional local history Museum”

April 20, 2018

April 26, 2018 at 16.00 hours in the exhibition hall of the Voronezh regional art Museum. In. Kramskogo will host the Grand opening of the exhibition “war posters 1941-1945-ies from the funds of the Tambov regional Museum.”

The exhibition will feature more than twenty posters from the collections of the Tambov regional Museum of local lore, collected by Museum staff during the great Patriotic war.

Literally, from the first days of the great Patriotic war political graphics became the sharp weapon of ideological fight. Posters of the initial period of war, urged the Soviet people to arms, to fight for the honor and independence of the Motherland. They were permeated with pathos of selfless struggle against the mortal enemy. Resurrecting the glorious history of our Motherland in graphic works, the artists created posters, which vividly reflected the mass heroism of the Soviet people at the front and in the rear.

The highest achievements of the Soviet poster of that distant time with the beginning of the war creatively used primarily famous artists of the older generation-DS Moore, VN Denis, M. M. Cheremnykh, other masters of graphics and painting.

Sensitive and responsive poster artists responded to the events in the country and the course of military operations conducted by the Soviet Army in a vast space from the Barents to the Black sea. In their posters, they deliberately chose actions that truthfully portrayed the reality of front-line life and at the same time metaphorically revealed the idea of the poster.

The entrance fee for all categories of citizens – 50 rubles.

Photography – free

Amateur video (1 hour) – 300 rubles

The exhibition will run until may 27, 2018.

In 1942 was created the posters, which the artists convey the overwhelming desire of the Soviet soldiers of the army and Navy to defeat the enemy, the historical inevitability of the victorious outcome of the war of the Soviet people against Nazi invaders. The General tone of imaginative solutions of the posters of this period was characterized by restraint, using the least number of colors with the introduction of a shock of red spots. One of the themes of the 1942 posters was the suffering of the Soviet people, especially children, from the atrocities of the Nazi army in its occupied territory.

In 1943 posters is dominated by themes and moods, caused by the beginning of the decisive offensive of the Soviet troops. In the same year there appeared posters with the image of the Soviet soldiers who liberated his native land. In the posters sounded the theme of victory over the enemy.

In 1944, bright, emotional posters were created, conveying the joyful mood that gripped the Soviet soldiers, all our people in connection with the victories of the Soviet Army on the fronts of the great Patriotic war.

By the end of 1944, the leading theme of the posters finally becomes the theme of Victory. The poster chronicle of the great Patriotic war ends with a series of bright, festive posters issued in 1945, where the theme of returning people home to peaceful creative work sounded with great force.
