August 17, 2018 on the new museum site in the House of the Governor (Prospect Revolution, 22) opened an exhibition of contemporary art “Policy of Acceptance.”

Seven artists from Voronezh, Moscow and St. Petersburg worked on the creation of works for this exhibition. The exposition includes works made in various techniques using a diverse material – installation, audio and video art, graphics and others.

The exposition tells the viewer about the artist’s thoughts about the society, about the interaction between the participants of social groups, about the bases on which they are built, and about the variability of the hierarchy or the horizontal of relations.

The exhibition will last until 9 August.

Opening the solemn part, the acting Director of the Museum Marina Chernova welcomed all those present, told about the life and work of the author of the works, noting that the exhibition is important for the Museum, because before the war in the Museum’s collection was the product of VD Bubnova “Urban landscape”, however, unfortunately, it was lost during the occupation of Voronezh and therefore the opening exhibition is of particular importance for the Museum.

Varvara Dmitrievna lived a very long life, and these years were filled with conscious, independent and bright creativity. She saw a lot, knew and experienced, but in these works there is no despair and despondency, there is no fatigue from life. They are full of energy and bright originality.” Natalia noted that Varvara Bubnova remains an interesting artist for the modern audience.

Voronezh artist and teacher Alexey Zagorodnykh thanked all those present for their attention to the exhibition, shared his impressions about the work of V. D. Bubnova, expressing admiration for the individuality of each of the presented works, and noted that the artist’s works tell more about her than biographical information.

A person constantly communicates with other people, groups, communities. Since birth, it interacts with a narrow circle. As you get older, the number of acquaintances increases. A person goes to school, UNIVERSITY and work, meets new people there, getting used to being in groups, whether it is a company of friends or colleagues.

The essence of the exhibition of contemporary artists “policy of acceptance” consists of reflections on society, on the interaction between the participants of these groups, on the basis on which they are built, the variability of the hierarchy or horizontal relations.

For artists there were no restrictions in the choice of materials and techniques used in the work, so the exhibition will be diverse works of art prepared by the participants specifically for this exhibition.

Sergey Konstantinovich Zaryanko – Russian portrait painter of Belarusian origin.

The artist was born in Vitebsk region in the family of serf. When Sergei was very young the family moved to St. Petersburg, where his father worked for Prince A. N. Golitsyn.

The boy from childhood showed artistic abilities, and the first skills received from the painter V. M. Avrorin. The talent of the young artist was noticed by a famous Russian painter A. Venetsianov, who contributed in 1834 definition of Sergei Zaryanko at the Academy of arts students of the Imperial Academy of arts. Also studied at the Academy and his brothers – Basil, Joseph and Nicholas, but they all died at a fairly young age, which prevented to show their talents to the full.

Sergey Konstantinovich did not immediately turn to portrait painting. Prior to that, he portrayed different interiors, studying at the landscape class of M. N. Vorobiev. In 1836 he received a small silver medal, in 1838 he was awarded the title of class artist, after which he continued to write mostly promising species, and in 1841 he was awarded a large silver medal.

In 1843, the master received the title of academician and, living in Moscow, was engaged in the execution of images for churches, taught drawing at the Alexander orphan Institute and “perspective art” in the Palace architectural school.

On his return to St. Petersburg, in 1855, Sergei Konstantinovich for the first time seriously took up portrait painting. At the academic exhibition in 1849 were exhibited two portraits, which brought him great fame. In 1850, for the work of the Academy awarded the artist the title of Professor.

Zaryanko contributed to the development of young artists, some of which have reached honorable prominence, for example: V. G. Perov, I. M. Pryanishnikov, V. Pukirev, V. I. Sherwood, L. F., Jodaiko, brothers, V. E. and K. E. Makovsky, G. I. Bortnevskiy.

Released from under his brush portraits are remarkable for unusually strong modeling, excellent transmission of lighting, careful development of details, even in accessories and accurate reproduction of persons.the Master wrote about a hundred portraits in his life, which depicted the great and famous people – emperors, princes, princesses and counts.

The artist died on January 1 in Moscow.
