Glandin Alexey Leonidovich

Alexey Glandin was born in Odessa in the family of an Italian businessman Leonardo Englandi. Birth name Andreo Englandi.

Member of the Great Patriotic War. Graduated from the Odessa Art School (1949), the Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin of the USSR Academy of Arts in Leningrad (1957, workshop of Professor Yu.M. Neprintsev). Participant of regional, zonal, republican, all-Union, foreign exhibitions since 1957. In 1957-1961 he lived in the city of Stalinsk, Kemerovo region, in 1962-1967 he worked in Voronezh. Member of the Union of Artists since 1960. Chairman (1962-1963), board member (1963-1966) of the Voronezh branch of the Union of Artists. Participant of the zonal exhibition “The Black Earth Region” (1964).

He worked in the genres of landscape and thematic painting. The artist’s works have become widely known. The depth of content, relevance and high skill of execution are inherent in his largest works – “Song of the Motherland”, “October Watch”. “Armor-piercing”. His painting “Dedicated to the Marine Corps” is the memory of the lost sailor friends. The author showed a dramatic episode with meager means. seen and experienced by him in the war. In the landscapes of the master, cheerfulness was always felt. They are full of light and wonder at the beauty of the world.

Glandin’s personal exhibitions took place in the city of Podolsk, Moscow Region (1973), Moscow (1973, 1984, 1988), Voronezh (1985). Presented at the State Tretyakov Gallery, Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Arts (St. Petersburg), Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy, museums in a number of cities.

Exhibition “Royal Dolls” (0+)

February 26, 2021 on the third floor of the main building of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy will open the exhibition “Tsar dolls” from the private collection of Svetlana Pchelnikova.

The Tsar Dolls exhibition is part of a large-scale project to recreate the collection of dolls and toys from the children of Emperor Nicholas II. Its author is Svetlana Pchelnikova, an artist, collector, philanthropist, laureate of the RF Government Prize in the field of culture.

The exposition will include unique exhibits made of various materials and in various techniques. From photographs, drawings, references in the memoirs of figures of that time, the lost items of the children’s life of the family of the last emperor of Russia were recreated.

The exhibition will feature 19th century porcelain beauties from eminent factories in France and Germany, clothes and copies of doll sets brought to the imperial family from Europe, about four hundred wooden soldiers – exact copies of those played by Tsarevich Alexei, as well as antique paper dolls Lady Betty Raphael Tuck, designed in England and printed in Bavaria in 1894.

Visitors will be able not only to get acquainted with toys from the time of the imperial family, appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of the presented collection, but also learn the history of the creation of exclusive exhibits.

The museum opened the exhibition “Tsar dolls”

February 26 at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy opened the exhibition “Tsar dolls”.

Voronezh residents and guests of the city are presented with unique exhibits – dolls and toys of the children of Emperor Nicholas II, recreated from photographs, drawings and materials from memoirs.

The author of the collection is Svetlana Pchelnikova, an artist, collector, philanthropist, laureate of the RF Government Prize in the field of culture.

Visitors will see 19th century porcelain dolls, clothes and replicas of dolls’ utensils, wooden toy soldiers, antique paper dolls, and many other original toys.

The exhibition is complemented by photographs and portraits of members of the imperial family, books and annotations.

For the first visitors to the exhibition, Svetlana Pchelnikova conducted an author’s excursion, during which she shared the history of her collection and answered guests’ questions.

Tickets can be bought both online and at the ticket office of the museum.

The exhibition will run until April 11, 2021.
