August 15. Lecture “Dmitry Zhilinsky. Reviving traditions “(16+)

August 4, 2021

August 15 at 15.00 o’clock in the VOKhM them. I.N. Kramskoy within the framework of the exhibition “Back to the USSR. From “thaw” to “perestroika”. Art 1960-1980. ” there will be a lecture “Dmitry Zhilinsky. Reviving Traditions ”, dedicated to the work of the classic of Russian art of the 20th century.

Dmitry Zhilinsky – People’s Artist of the RSFSR, laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR does not need a special introduction; he is one of the most famous and respected masters of the Soviet and post-Soviet eras. His works “Group portrait of students-sculptors” (1964, Saratov State Art Museum named after A. Radishchev), “By the Sea. Family “(1964, State Tretyakov Gallery) and especially” Gymnasts of the USSR “(1964-1965, RM), exhibited at numerous All-Union, All-Russian, international exhibitions, brought him fame and were acquired by the largest museums in the country (the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum).

The artist began his creative career in the mid-1950s together with the artists of the “severe style”, but rather quickly acquired his own individual pictorial language and original painting technique, which made them talk about him as one of the innovators of modern painting. His portraits and genre compositions are sustained in the spirit of a kind of “neo-Renaissance” based on stylistic techniques and painting techniques of the late European Middle Ages and Russian icon painting. At the same time, Dmitry Zhilinsky is the successor of the traditions of the Russian realistic school, and the heroes of his works are our contemporaries.

“… I fell in love with the masters of the early Renaissance, I fell in love with their concreteness, modesty in the interpretation of the gesture, naivety, clarity, unseemlyness,” Zhilinsky said about himself.

Lecturer – Senior Researcher of the Valery Meremianin Museum.

The cost of a lecture is 150 rubles.
Registration is required by phone: 255-50-81.

August 14th. Thematic excursion “Official and unofficial. Painting 1960-1980s. ” (14+)

August 3, 2021

August 14 at 12.00 VOKHM them. I.N. Kramskoy invites you to a thematic excursion “Official and unofficial. Painting 1960-1980s. ” (within the framework of the exhibition “Back to the USSR. From the” thaw “to” perestroika “. Art 1960-1980”).

Thematic excursion is dedicated to the most important period in the development of Russian art, a time when artistic life in Russia was distinguished by great diversity and increased activity.
A characteristic feature of this time was the confrontation between official and unofficial art. Formal searches often led traditional artists to the radical camp. The heroic efforts of “unofficial” artists gradually pushed the boundaries of what was permissible for the majority of artists who did not break with the official structures of the Union of Artists, but did not support the ideology of power with their art. They directed all their efforts to plastic searches, demonstrating the many-sided art of the 1960s – 1980s. We offer visitors the opportunity to remember the recent past of their country, captured in art.

Speaker – head of the scientific and educational department of the museum Larisa Kitaeva.

For a ticket to the exhibition: full – 300 rubles; preferential (pupils, pensioners, students) – 200 rubles.

Registration by phone: +8 (473) 255-50-81.

Exhibition “VORONEZH: up and down” 0+

August 2, 2021

August 11, 2021 on the second floor of the exhibition hall of the Museum. I.N. Kramskoy, the exhibition “VORONEZH: up and down” begins to work, which will present graphic works with views of Voronezh from the museum collection and from private collections.

Today Voronezh is a rapidly growing city with a population of over one million. Where there used to be low-rise buildings in the historic center, buildings rise, destroying the integral form of past centuries. The urban environment imperceptibly affects a person every day. None of us can ignore the city: with its noisy traffic flows, variegated architecture, electrical wires … Few already remember what the city was like several decades ago. The exhibition provides an opportunity to see what the houses, streets and alleys are now familiar to everyone in the 50-90s of the XX century.

The views of Voronezh presented at the exhibition were created by famous graphic artists of several generations. The atmosphere of the city in the color linocut of the 50s by Georgy Alekseev and Vladimir Presnyakov is surprisingly reliably conveyed. In the 1960s, Presnyakov created a whole series of black-and-white Voronezh linocuts, which were printed by the Kommuna publishing house from the author’s boards. Noteworthy is the large-scale work of Masabikh Akhunov from the series “Voronezh in Centuries”, almost three meters wide, it consists of several components. Protected areas of Voronezh with no longer existing old buildings and small streets were embodied in a series of aquatints of the 80s by Evgeny Poshivalov. His works are a kind of encyclopedia of the sights of Voronezh. An excellent example of etching technique is the work of Oleg Turbin and Gennady Grishchenko, which show us the most recognizable views of the city. The graphic artist Denis Bulavintsev has already captured the modern views of Voronezh, whose works are presented in the technique of linocut and are kept in the museum.

Over the years of its existence, Voronezh has greatly changed its appearance. The exhibition demonstrates how the streets of the city have changed over time. Visitors will be able to see Voronezh as the artists of the last century saw it and how its appearance was reflected in the works of contemporary artists.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 435th anniversary of the city of Voronezh and presents about 40 graphic works performed in different graphic techniques.

The project was implemented in collaboration with the Voronezh graphic artist Denis Bulavintsev.

Work on the title – E.Ya. Poshivalov. House-Museum of I.S. Nikitin. 1984.

The cost of the visit is 100 rubles. for all categories of citizens.

Members of the Union of Artists (upon presentation of a certificate) – free
Photography: mobile devices, camera (without flash) – free

The exhibition will run until September 19, 2021.

Exhibition “Back to the USSR. From “thaw” to “perestroika”. Art 1960-1980 “

August 2, 2021

On August 5, 2021, a joint exhibition of the State Museum and Exhibition Center “ROSIZO” and the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after V.I. I.N. Kramskoy “Back to the USSR. From “thaw” to “perestroika”. Art 1960-1980 “.

It is dedicated to the most important stage in the development of Russian art from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s. The exposition presents more than 45 works of painting and graphics from the gold funds of ROSIZO.

A characteristic feature of the period of stagnation was the confrontation between official and unofficial art, which could be traced to one degree or another in all the republics of the former USSR. The heroic efforts of “unofficial” artists gradually pushed the boundaries of what was permissible for the majority of artists who did not break with the official structures of the Union of Artists, but did not support the ideology of power with their art. They directed all their efforts towards purely plastic searches, which is reflected in the exhibition project. The works presented in the exhibition demonstrate the achievements of artists in this direction, demonstrating the many-sided art of the 1960-1980s.

The exposition is structured by sections. Visitors to the exhibition will see works by “official” artists (“Fishermen of Lake Pskov” by Pyotr Ossovsky, “Civil War” by Yuri Korolev, “Decorators of Trekhgorka” by Aaron April), traditionalists (“Boys” by Alexander Gritsai, “In the Studio. Spring” by Yuri Kugach), masters of the Moscow school (“Artist Nina Nikoghosyan” by Max Birshtein), metaphysical realism, neoacademism and other trends. They are represented by famous masters Tatiana Nazarenko, Natalia Nesterova, Olga Bulgakova, Elena Romanova, Oleg Vukolov and others.

At the exhibition “Back to the USSR. From thaw to perestroika. Art 1960-1980 ” along with the works of outstanding Moscow and St. Petersburg authors, works by artists from the former Soviet republics are presented. A relatively stylistic unity is demonstrated by the Baltic artists oriented towards Western European art (Jan Osis, Edgar Iltner). The works of artists from the republics of Central Asia (Alexander Akilov, Rashid Abdurashitov, Izzat Klychev) are distinguished by an increased decorativeness based on the traditions of folk art; a poetic and metaphorical view of life is characteristic of the artists of the Caucasus (Nadir Abdurakhmanov, Ivan Vepkhvadze).

The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Visit cost:

Full – 300 rubles.
Preferential (pupils, pensioners, students) – 200 rubles.

Photography: mobile devices, camera (without flash) – free of charge.

The exhibition will run until September 5, 2021.

The grand opening of the exhibition “A Different View of the Vision of the New Testament” took place.

August 2, 2021

On July 30, an exhibition of the Voronezh sculptor and painter Fyodor Kuzmich Sushkov “A different look at the vision of the New Testament” was solemnly opened on the site of the museum in the House of the Governor (Prospect Revolution, 22).

At the opening ceremony, Maria Mazur, Head of the Department of Culture of the Voronezh Region, made a welcoming speech. In her speech, she noted that the exhibition of works by Fyodor Kuzmich is not being held in the city for the first time and it is impossible to imagine Voronezh without the works of the master.

Then the head of the Donecopark travel company Denis Dmitriev spoke. He told the guests about new excursion tours for Voronezh residents and guests of the city, the routes of which will tell about the places of youth and adult life of Fyodor Kuzmich and reveal the features of his famous monuments.

Irina Kotlyarova, chief researcher at the Kostenki Museum-Reserve, noted that many times she noticed a strong emotional shock of people who see Sushkov’s sculptures for the first time. Such a vivid impression is made by the greatness of the spirit and the deep meaning of his work.

The director of the art museum Olga Ryabchikova said that in the future it is planned to create an exhibition of works by Voronezh artists in the Governor’s House. And it is very important that the works of our fellow countryman are being demonstrated in the hall now.

The President of the SushkovArtHouse Foundation, the sculptor’s granddaughter Anna Nazarova, expressed her gratitude to everyone who took part in the creation of the exhibition, and conducted an author’s tour of the exposition for the guests.

The exhibition will run until the end of 2021. The schedule and conditions of the visit are presented on the VOKhM website.
