The House of the Governor sounded “Music of the Petipa era”

April 25, 2018 on the new site of the VOKH them. I.N. Kramskoy (House of the Governor) was presented a musical and choreographic project with the participation of the artists of the choir and ballet of the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theater.

The program of the project “The Music of the Petipa Epoch in the Museum”, created under the motto “Beauty, solemnity, grace”, continued a series of events held in the framework of the III Festival “Voronezh Stars of the World Ballet” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the outstanding choreographer Marius Petipa.

In the big hall of the Governor’s House, which preserved the features of an old mansion, the vocal works of the XIX century, created during the heyday of Russian classical art, were sounded. The program of the chamber concert was supplemented with choreographic miniatures performed by the artists of the ballet troupe of the theater.

Project participants:

The Choir of the Voronezh Opera and Ballet Theater (chief choirmaster – Olga Scherban, choirmaster – Emil Hajiyev) is one of the best theater choirs in Russia. The choir performs with concert programs on the main scenic stages of Voronezh, takes part in the events of the International Platonov Festival of Art of the Voronezh Regional Philharmonic. The repertoire of the collective includes concert programs, each of which is a dramatistically arranged theatrical performance: the poem “The Bells” by S. Rachmaninov, “The Little Jazz Mass” by B.Chilkott, “The Revival of Love (Renaissance Music)”, etc.

Voronezh Ballet Company is a highly professional ballet team that masterly performs the works of Russian and world choreographic classics along with modern productions. The repertoire of the troupe includes more than 20 ballet performances staged by the famous choreographers V.Vasilyev, K.Ter-Stepanov, G.Mayorov, A.Petrov, Yu.Burlaka and others on the Voronezh stage. The collective has repeatedly participated in international and all-Russian arts festivals, on foreign tours. Chief choreographer – Honored Artist of the Voronezh region – Alexander Lityagin.

Vasnetsov Viktor Mikhailovich

Viktor Vasnetsov-Russian painter and architect, master of historical and folklore painting.

The artist was born in the Russian village Lopyal Urzhum County Vyatka province in the family of Orthodox priest Mikhail Vasilyevich Vasnetsov.

As a ten-year-old boy, Victor entered the Vyatka theological school, where he studied for 4 years, and later transferred to the Vyatka theological Seminary. Viktor Mikhailovich has always been fond of artistic creativity, so he took drawing lessons from the teacher of the gymnasium N. M. Chernysheva.

With the blessing of his father, Vasnetsov left the Seminary and went to St. Petersburg, where he entered the Academy of fine arts. Viktor Mikhailovich was a student of Ivan Kramskoy in the Drawing school of the society for encouragement of artists, and then studied at the Academy of fine arts. The author began to be engaged in exhibition activity since 1869, at first participating in expositions of Academy, and then — in exhibitions of Wanderers. In 1893 Vasnetsov became a full member of the Academy of arts.

After 1905 he was close to the Union of the Russian people, although he was not a member, participated in the financing and design of monarchical publications, including “Books of Russian sorrow.”

In 1915, the artist participated in the creation Of the society for the revival of artistic Russia, along with many other artists of his time.

Viktor Vasnetsov died in Moscow on July 23, 1926, at the age of 79, leaving behind five children from his marriage to Alexandra Vladimirovna Ryazantseva. The artist was buried at the Lazarev cemetery, after the destruction of which the ashes were transferred to Vvedenskoye cemetery.

In the work of Victor Vasnetsov vividly presented different genres that have become stages of a very interesting evolution: from the life of a fairy tale, from easel painting to the monumental, from the landing of the Wanderers to the prototype of modernist style. At an early stage, Vasnetsov’s works were dominated by everyday subjects, but later, the main direction was epic-historical, and in the late 1890s an increasingly prominent place in the work of the master took a religious theme.

In 1914 Vasnetsov’s drawing was used for the stamp of voluntary gathering of victims of the first world war, issued by the Moscow city public administration.

In Russia, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the artist, in 1998 published hitch of two postage stamps and a coupon, which were depicted paintings VM Vasnetsov “Battle of the Slavs with the nomads”, “self-Portrait”and” Ivan the Prince on a Gray Wolf.”

Maratti, Carlo

Carlo Maratti was an Italian painter and architect of the Baroque era who belonged to the Roman school of painting. Born in the province of central Italy – Camerano near Ancona.

Talent of the artist at the boy was shown in the childhood. When Carlo was only 12 years old, his parents moved him to Rome to study painting with master Andrea Sacchi, who Maratti adopted knowledge for many years. Carlo all his life regarded his mentor as an older friend and teacher.

The young artist became famous in 1650, after successfully fulfilled the order for the altar painting. Maratti was presented to Pope Alexander VII, who later provided the artist with orders.

Several of the altar paintings by Carlo Maratti are still in the Roman Church. In 1704 he was knighted by Pope Clement XI and awarded the order of the Church. The artist became a court painter of the French king Louis XIV, who was conquered by the art of the master, seeing his canvas depicting Daphne. At the same time, Maratti had permission from Louis to continue his work in Rome. In addition, Carlo Maratti was a great teacher, who has inherited the knowledge of numerous disciples in our own workshop.

In addition to creating paintings, the master was engaged in architecture. He designed numerous buildings, and in 1700 he became President of the Roman Academy of St. Luke.

The famous Italian painter died in 1713 and was buried in the Roman Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri.

Carlo Maratti left behind a lot of wonderful works, which he wrote in the academic tradition of his teacher Andrea Sacchi, originating in the work of Raphael. In addition to altar paintings for churches, the master also painted portraits, murals and sculptures.

Now K. Maratti’s pictures can be seen in museums of Paris( Louvre), Rome, Berlin, Florence, St. Petersburg, London, Madrid, Boston, Vienna, Brussels, Munich, etc.

Exhibition of one painting “Butchkuri AA. “Wedding Train” from the funds of the VOKHM them. Kramskoy I.N. opened in the Lipetsk Regional Museum of Local History in the hall “Picturesque Russia” April 14, 2017.

Buchkuri Alexander Alekseevich – a famous artist, a pupil of Ilya Repin, a teacher, one of the organizers of the Union of Artists of the Central Black Sea Region. Born in 1870 in Buturlinovka Bobrovsky district of the Voronezh province.

The painting “The Wedding Train” is made in the traditions of Russian realism of the 19th century. Live expressive faces, bright saturated colors, deep psychologism – all this is inherent in this work, as well as many other works of the artist. In 1914 the picture was exhibited at the spring exhibition in St. Petersburg.

July 5, 1942 during the occupation of Voronezh, AA. Buchkuri and his wife were shot by the Germans.

The artist’s paintings, except for the Voronezh Art Museum, are kept in the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the Odessa Art Museum and other museums of the country.

The exhibition in Lipetsk will run until July 16, 2017.

Robert, Huber

Hubert Robert is a French landscape painter, who gained European fame for amazingly executed dimensional canvases with romantic images of ancient ruins surrounded by idealized nature. His nickname was”Robert from the Ruins.”

The artist was born in Paris. Master of landscape studied in the most famous French educational institution of the University of Paris in the XIV-XV centuries – Navarre College. In 1754 he went to Rome with the French Ambassador Etienne françois Choiseul, in Italy Robert met Piranesi, who had a great influence on his work. In Rome, the master lived 11 years, inspired by the local scenery.

In 1765, the artist returned to Paris, and a year later was admitted to the Royal Academy of painting and sculpture. In the same place Hubert Robert became a planner of the Royal gardens, the Keeper of the Royal Museum, the Chancellor of the Academy, and was engaged in decoration of the residences of the king, the Queen and the high court. In 1775, the landscape painter took part in the reconstruction of the Park in Versailles.

The French revolution did not pass Hubert Robert side. During the political changes in October 1793, the artist was arrested on suspicion of disloyal and imprisoned in Saint-Pelagie, then transferred to Saint-Lazare prison. He was released only after the fall of the French revolutionary Robespierre in 1794.

The artist died in Paris in 1808 from an apoplexy stroke.

The master is known for picturesque fantasies, whose main motive is parks and real, and more often imaginary “majestic ruins”, as well as a variety of sketches that he made during his stay in Italy. His paintings are presented in the Louvre, The carnival Museum, the Hermitage and other palaces and estates in Russia, as well as in many major museums in Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia.

The artist had a habit of leaving his brand marks on the canvases. In each picture among inscriptions on a wall of a ruin, on a monument, a stone fragment, even on a brand of a cow it is possible to find a name: “Hubert Robert”, “H. Robert” or initials “H. R.”. In some paintings among the people depicted, the master left his self-portrait (gray-haired middle-aged man).

Calam, Alexander

Alexander Kalam is a famous Swiss landscape painter. He was born in the Swiss town of Vevey in the family of a marble Carver. The boy began to draw in his youth, he was especially attracted to landscapes of Switzerland. With 15 years Alexander worked in the Bank, and in 1829, with the financial support of his employer, banker Diodati, began to take lessons from the artist françois diday. A few months later, Kalam decided to devote his life to artistic creativity.

Exhibition activities landscape began in 1835, the painter exhibited his forest and mountain scenery in Berlin and Paris. Works of the master found a large number of admirers, especially among the inhabitants of Germany.

In 1842, the artist went to Paris to demonstrate his five paintings: “Mont Blanc”, “Jungfrau”, “Brientskoe lake”, “Monte Rosa” and “Mont servin”. In 1844, Calam traveled to Italy, where he visited Rome and Naples, made numerous sketches and painted several paintings. Despite the fact that the master was very successful in the transfer of southern nature, its main theme was the mountain landscape of Switzerland.

A distinctive feature of the artist’s work was a very frequent display in four landscapes consistently four seasons or days. The lithographs, engravings and miniatures devoted to Swiss nature made by Alexander Kalam were also very popular. Epic, mostly Alpine landscapes made by this artist is extremely popular in the nineteenth century and had a significant impact on the further development of the landscape genre.

Shubin, Fedot Ivanovich

Fedot Ivanovich Shubin-the most significant Russian sculptor of the XVIII century, a representative of classicism.

Master was born in the village Tuchkovskaya Arkhangelsk province in a peasant family. The boy was interested in art since childhood, so he went to St. Petersburg to study sculpture and entered the Academy of arts in the class of Gillet. Fedot Ivanovich was a very diligent and talented student and graduated from the Academy with a large gold medal.

After graduating from this institution, the pendulum studied with AA Ivanov in the capitals of France and Italy. In Paris the master devoted to training 3 years (1767-1770), and in Rome studied 2 years (1770-1772). In 1774 he was awarded the title of academician.

In 1803, under the decree of Alexander I, Fedot Ivanovich Shubin appointed assistant Professor.

The sculptor worked mainly with marble, very rarely turned to bronze. Most of his sculptural portraits are made in the form of busts.

The master worked not only as a portraitist, but also as a decorator, he created about 60 marble historical portraits for the Chesmensky Palace and 42 sculptures for the Marble Palace.

Fedot Shubin was a master-bone cutter of Kholmogorskaya carved bone.

The sculptor died may 24, 1805 in St. Petersburg, not having lived a few days before his 65th birthday. He was buried at the Smolensk Orthodox cemetery, and in October 1931 the remains of Fedot Shubin were transferred to the memorial necropolis of the XVIII century at the Lazarev cemetery of Alexander Nevsky Lavra.

Laktionov Alexander Ivanovich

Александр Иванович Лактионов – советский живописец, график, педагог и профессор.

Александр Иванович родился в Ростове-на-Дону в семье заводского кузнеца и прачки-надомницы. В 19 лет освоил ремесло каменщика, работал чертежником. Начальное художественное образование получил в ростовской художественной школе у А. С. Чиненова. В начале 1930-х годов жил в Москве, где познакомился с И. Э. Грабарем, М. В. Нестеровым и С. В. Малютиным.

Мастер, после окончания художественной школы, поступил в Ленинградский институт живописи, архитектуры и скульптуры, где его наставником был И. И. Бродский. В 1938 году выполнил дипломную работу: «Красноармейцы выпускают стенную газету (Герой Советского Союза Н. В. Юдин в гостях у комсомольцев-танкистов)», которая получила оценку «отлично». После защиты дипломной работы Александр Иванович продолжил обучение в аспирантуре, обучаясь искусству у И. Э. Грабаря.

Художник работал главным образом как жанрист и портретист, а также писал пейзажи и натюрморты. Он пробовал свои силы в литографии и скульптуре и писал тематические картины.

Александр Лактионов не только осваивал приемы современной ему живописи, но и специально изучал технику письма старых мастеров, он очень четко передавал цветовые и светотеневые свойства натурных планов, их переходы, а также настроение персонажей.

Александр Иванович Лактионов умер от болезни сердца в Москве и был похоронен на Новодевичьем кладбище.

Kryzhitsky Konstantin Yakovlevich

Konstantin Yakovlevich Kryzhitsky – Russian landscape painter, academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg.

Konstantin Kryzhitsky was born in Kiev. Even in his youth he became interested in drawing and so went to get a General education in the Kyiv real school. Also Konstantin Y. he attended the drawing school of N. I. Murashko.

In 1877, the landscape painter entered the Imperial Academy of arts, where he studied under the guidance of Professor MK Klodt. Master graduated from the academic course in 1884 with the title of class artist of I degree and a small gold medal awarded to him for the painting “Oaks”.

In 1889, he was promoted to the degree of academician, and a year later the master was elected a full member of the Academy of arts. Additionally, the artist was an excellent teacher and he taught drawing at the Nicholas orphanage Institute.

Kryzhitsky traveled a lot. Since 1890, he has actively traveled to Europe, visited France and Germany, where he wrote a lot of great scenery, yearning for his Homeland.

In 1900, the artist’s works were exhibited at the world exhibition in Paris, and in 1909 exhibited in Munich At the international art exhibition.

Konstantin Yakovlevich Kryzhitsky worked with oil paints, watercolors and pencil, drawing motifs for his landscapes mainly from the nature of the Kiev province and the suburbs of St. Petersburg.

Most paintings of the painter appeared at the annual academic exhibitions, since 1879, watercolors – at the exhibitions of the Society of Russian watercolors, an active member of which was the master himself since its Foundation. Also Kryzhitsky was the Chairman and one of organizers of Society of artists of A. I. Kuindzhi.

The artist committed suicide. He was buried at the Smolensk Orthodox cemetery.

Konstantin Kryzhitsky wrote more than four hundred paintings. In 1911 in St. Petersburg and in 1913 in Moscow passed memorial exhibitions of the artist.

The exhibition presents 29 copies of graphic works by front-line artists Vladimir Bogatkin and Vitaly Demidov in 1942-1943 in Voronezh. The works of these artists from the collection of VOKHM them. I.N. Kramskoye are unique historical evidence of the true tragedy of the city of Voronezh during the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition will last until June 15, 2017.
