Exhibition of one painting “Butchkuri AA. “Wedding Train” from the funds of the VOKHM them. Kramskoy I.N. opened in the Lipetsk Regional Museum of Local History in the hall “Picturesque Russia” April 14, 2017.

Buchkuri Alexander Alekseevich – a famous artist, a pupil of Ilya Repin, a teacher, one of the organizers of the Union of Artists of the Central Black Sea Region. Born in 1870 in Buturlinovka Bobrovsky district of the Voronezh province.

The painting “The Wedding Train” is made in the traditions of Russian realism of the 19th century. Live expressive faces, bright saturated colors, deep psychologism – all this is inherent in this work, as well as many other works of the artist. In 1914 the picture was exhibited at the spring exhibition in St. Petersburg.

July 5, 1942 during the occupation of Voronezh, AA. Buchkuri and his wife were shot by the Germans.

The artist’s paintings, except for the Voronezh Art Museum, are kept in the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), the Odessa Art Museum and other museums of the country.

The exhibition in Lipetsk will run until July 16, 2017.
