For centuries, women invariably inspired poets, musicians, artists to create the greatest works of art. The theme of women has always occupied a special place in the visual arts. Each epoch has its own ideal of a woman, female beauty, which is reflected in the portrait painting of Russian artists of different eras.
Female portrait is one of the most beloved genres in the works of all portrait painters. They are inspired and glorify in their creations the beauty, spirituality, various features of female characters and the appearance of a woman.
Works of the museum collection acquaint with the best examples of portrait painting presented by the works of Karl Bryullov, Vasily Tropinin, Vladimir Hau, Ivan Kramsky, Konstantin Makovsky, Elena Kiseleva, Pavel Shmarov, Alexander Buchkuri, Konstantin Korovin, Valentin Serov, Vasiliy Krivoruchko, Mikhail Likhachev and a The gallery of images is opened by works of the 18th century, completed by works of the 60-80s of the 20th century. The virtual exhibition enhances interest in the cultural heritage, introduces rare museum pieces that are not represented in the permanent exhibition of the museum.

Art lovers can get acquainted with the unique collection of engravings of Peter the Great’s time from the museum’s own collection, most of which are works of Alexey Zubov, the master of incisors. Many rare and valuable plates were made by foreign master engravers who came to Russia at the invitation of Peter the Great, including Adrian Shhonebek, Peter Pikart, Gendrik Devit, and others. The collection also includes works by Russian masters of the time: Ivan Zubov, Ivan Myakishev, Grigory Tepchegorsky, Alexei Rostovtsev, Seeds Matveev.
The works of the museum collection acquaint with the most important political and military events, stages of development of science and culture, trends in the development of art in the XVIII century.
The engraving of the first quarter of the 18th century had two main functions: responding quickly to events taking place in the state, it played an important informational role; at the same time it was a means of propaganda and enlightenment, it was intended to capture the key moments of history. These two tasks determined the character and artistic language of the works.
March 31, 2019 in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy held a master class “Easter souvenir.”
Under the leadership of the Voronezh ceramics artist, the head of the ChudoCeramics studio and the Charity Workshop of Blagolopie, Arkady Chudakov, the participants (children from 8 years old and their parents) created clay Easter eggs.
At the master class, each participant created an author’s souvenir that will be a pleasant gift for a bright holiday. The products made during the training will be burned by the craftsman in a special furnace.
March 28, 2019 in the exhibition hall of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramsky solemnly opened an exhibition representing the paintings of the great Russian artist Ilya Sergeyevich Glazunov.
The exhibition opened is timed to the upcoming 90th anniversary of the artist’s birthday. Considering that the first personal exhibition of Ilya Glazunov’s works was exhibited in Voronezh almost 30 years ago, this exhibition is a bright and expected event for lovers of the artist’s work who live in Voronezh and Voronezh Krai.
Employees of the Voronezh Museum, specialists from the Moscow Art Gallery Ilya Glazunov, head of the department of culture of the Voronezh region, well-known Voronezh art workers, as well as invited guests and residents of the city took part in the grand opening of the exhibition.
Museum guests received as a gift catalogs of the exhibition, specially published by the Art Galleries of Ilya Glazunov, for the opening of the exhibition in Voronezh.
The exhibition will run until May 22, 2019.
May 12 in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy held a master class for children from 10 years and their parents “Felt apple”.
The participants, under the guidance of the master Ludmila Kashirsky, will create a ruddy filling apple made of wool (using the dry felting technique), which will be an excellent element of decor and bring natural notes to the interior of the house.
The task is not only for those who have already worked with wool, but also for beginners.
The master class starts at 12.00.
