The album-catalog is devoted to the work of the oldest Voronezh artist G.A. Goncharov (1913-2001), which is retrospectively reflected in the exposition of the exhibition “The Peredvizhnik of the Country of Soviets” timed to the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Collection of etchings by the French painter and graphic artist of the XVIII century Jean-Jacques de Boissier from the funds of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after. I.N. Kramskoy – one of the best and most complete in museum collections in Russia.

The creative legacy of the remarkable etotist, whose works are kept in museums and private collections in European countries and the US, turned out to be beyond the scientific interests of Russian art historians. Restoration and study of a large monographic collection, held in the All-Union Scientific Research Center of the Russian Academy of Arts. Acad. I.E. Grabar, allowed to return the works to the exposition view, to put forward a hypothesis about the origin of the collection, to attribute and catalog the graphic sheets, and also to reveal analogies, copies and forgery of the master’s works in the largest graphic collections of the country. Etching, reproduced on the album album pages, with the exception of two similar sheets from the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin, in Russia are published for the first time.

The publication is intended for art historians, restorers, museum workers, collectors and a wide range of art lovers of classic black and white etching.

P.A. Nilus: in search of the elusive

The album is a catalog of the works of the painter and writer P.A. Nilus, stored in the funds of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy, acquaints the reader with the work of the artist of the period of his Parisian emigration.

The publication abounds with many excerpts from various literary sources that characterize the artist’s aesthetic and ethical views, his attitude to life and art. The section “Annexes” also includes the story of P.A. Nilus, dedicated to the closest friends – IA. Bunin and E.I. Bukovetsky, as well as reviews.

The publication is intended for both specialists and the widest circle of readers interested in the issues of fine arts in general and the culture of the Russian diaspora in particular.

This publication is dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the birth of I.N. Kramskoy and illustrates the work of a prominent representative of the democratic art movement of 1860-1880-ies, painter, draftsman, engraver I.N. Kramskoy.

Except for a few pencil sketches, also included in the “Catalog, Comments” section, the album-catalog reproduces all the works of the artist stored in the funds of the Voronezh and Ostrogozhsky museums. The reproduction number corresponds to the serial number of the catalog containing information on the technique of execution, the source and time of entry, as well as some models of Kramskoi-portraitist.

The edition is timed to the anniversary exhibition of the artist and is intended for all those interested in the history of the development of realistic art.
