Exhibition “Plastic and Color” (12+)

December 9, 2021

December 23 at 4 pm on the third floor of the main building of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy, the opening of the exhibition “Plastic and Color” will take place.

The joint exhibition of the creative and family union of Tamara and Yuri Astapchenko “Plastic and Color” is the fourth in their exhibition biography. The exposition is timed to coincide with the 60th anniversaries of famous Voronezh artists. Graduates of the Kharkov Institute of Art and Industry, they have been working in Voronezh for a long time and are well known to connoisseurs and art lovers, and thanks to their active exhibition activities, to the Russian and foreign public.

The masters work in traditional genres: Tamara prefers landscape, still life, Yuri – one- or two-figure chamber compositions. In a language understandable to many, they talk about a person, his world, living around, you just have to stretch out your hand. The creativity of artists is close to man, simple things turn out to be the most important, inspired by lyricism and contemplation. Creativity in the classical tradition means confident skill for Astapchenko’s union, the desire to express harmony as an expression of peace and the absence of a desire for shocking. The works of Voronezh artists speak of simple and important concepts: harmony, beauty, humanity.
The exposition will feature about 40 works of painting, graphics, sculpture.

Yuri Dmitrievich Astapchenko is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. Permanent participant of Voronezh, All-Russian, foreign and international exhibitions since 1985.
