October 16. Lecture “Life Truth” by Vladimir Makovsky “(12+)

October 4, 2021

On October 16, at 15.00, the museum will host a lecture “The Truth of Life” by Vladimir Makovsky. “

The lecture is devoted to the life and work of the outstanding Russian artist Vladimir Egorovich Makovsky (1846-1920) – one of the leaders of the Association of Traveling Exhibitions, a master of genre and everyday scenes, a draftsman and illustrator, whose works are kept in the largest museums and galleries in the country.

The paintings of Vladimir Makovsky are well known to everyone from childhood. His canvases “Nightingale Lovers”, “Cook Jam”, “Bank Collapse”, “Date”, “On the Boulevard”, “Party” have become not even classics, but the alphabet of Russian art. He was recognized by his contemporaries “as the most outstanding, the most individual of genre painters.”

The lecture will tell why the representative of the famous noble dynasty of artists Makovsky worked in the genre of critical realism, became a recognized master of the “small genre”, and how the revolution of 1917 influenced the work of the itinerant artist.

Lecturer – Senior Researcher of the Valery Meremianin Museum.

The cost of a lecture ticket is 150 rubles.

Registration is required by phone: +7 (473) 255-50-81.
