On September 23, 2021, at the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Academy of Watercolors and Fine Arts of Sergei Andriyaka, with the support of Severstal, a large-scale exhibition “The Great Repin Disciples” was opened, designed to reveal the talent of Repin as a teacher who raised a galaxy of outstanding masters who determined the further development of Russian art.
Ilya Efimovich was destined not only to nurture his first names, but also to influence the entire domestic art pedagogy, reforming it to the system, according to the patterns of which
we are still learning.
More than 20 leading metropolitan and regional museums take part in the unique mega-project of the Academy, having provided about 270 works of painting and graphics of the first magnitude. Among them are the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Research Museum at the Russian Academy of Arts, the Saratov State Art Museum. A.N. Radishcheva, Museum of Oriental Art, Museum of Russian Impressionism, art museums of Astrakhan, Veliky Novgorod, Vladimir, Volgograd, Vologda, Voronezh, Kazan, Kaluga, Krasnodar, Murom, Penza, Rostov-on-Don, Sevastopol, Cheboksary, Ulyanovsk, Elista, private collectors.
Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy provided 9 paintings and graphics from the museum collection for display at the exhibition. The work was carried out by P.D. Shmarov, A.M. Lyubimov, D.A. Shcherbinovsky, E.A. Kiseleva, D.N. Kardovsky, K.A. Veshchilova.
The organizers of the exhibition are confident that the opened exposition will become a bright event in Russian artistic life and will give impetus to further study of Repin’s pedagogical heritage.
The exhibition will run until December 5, 2021.
