An exhibition of designer dolls opened in the Voronezh Art Museum

March 5, 2021

March 05 at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy opened an exhibition of author’s dolls “Puppet curse”.

The exhibition, organized by the Voronezh masters, members of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia of the Department of Decorative and Applied Arts Ivan the Terrible and Nikolai Pavlov, brought together about 300 handicrafts created by more than 25 artists from different cities of Russia, Ukraine and Italy. One of the main heroes of the exhibition is the Teddy bear, a cult toy that dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.

As part of the exhibition, the museum will host thematic lectures and master classes. Lectures will tell about both Teddy bears and designer dolls, the history of their appearance, varieties and exhibitions dedicated to them.
At the master class “Bear-Broshka”, participants will make an original decoration with their own hands, and the master show will give the opportunity to see the creation of a doll’s head from baked plastic.

The entire program of events is presented here

The exhibition will run until April 11, 2021.

Exhibition “Opening Funds. Graphics of Wanderers “(0+)

March 5, 2021

The Museum is launching a series of exhibitions under the general title “Opening Funds”.
The aim of the project is to provide a deeper coverage of the artistic features of different periods in the history of Russian art, and to continue acquainting visitors with the museum’s collection. The exhibitions thematically and substantively supplement and expand the material of the permanent exhibition, updated in 2020 (#ReexpositionVOCHM).

Graphics, being an important part of artistic creation, perform roles from a sketch that captures natural observations to an independent work. At the same time, long-term exposure of graphic sheets is impossible for reasons of preservation. Temporary exhibitions are the best way to present graphic works to the general public.

The museum possesses an extensive and varied graphic collection. The first exhibition in the Opening Foundations cycle, which will open on February 10, will present the graphic heritage of the Itinerant artists.

Initially, painting was the basis of the work of the Wanderers, and graphics played an applied role. Over time, the art of drawing and watercolors acquired an independent meaning in their work. Relying on impressions from nature, the Wanderers used the possibilities of graphic techniques in a new way and created images that were expressive in their truth.

The exhibition will showcase a wide range of works by the Itinerants: from the academic drawing by Ivan Kramskoy to genre watercolors by Vladimir Makovsky and Klavdiy Lebedev, from sketches by Ilya Repin to the famous painting “The Cossacks” to elaborate landscapes by Andrei Shilder. The works presented at the exhibition show the work of well-known painters in new, unusual perspectives.

Visit cost:
A visit to the exhibition is included in the cost of an admission ticket to the main exhibition of the museum.
Members of the Union of Artists (upon presentation of a certificate) – free
Photography: mobile devices, camera (without flash) – free

Tickets can be purchased ONLINE only.

The exhibition will run until March 14, 2021.
