May 18 – International Museum Day

Every year on May 18, museum workers around the world celebrate their professional holiday – International Museum Day.

It appeared on the calendar in 1977, when at the next meeting of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) the proposal of the Russian organization on the establishment of this cultural holiday was accepted.
Since 1978, International Museum Day has been celebrated in more than 150 countries.

ICOM, established in 1946, is a worldwide organization representing museums and museum professionals. Her activities are aimed at protecting and promoting the natural and cultural heritage – past and future, tangible and intangible. Today, members of this organization are 40 thousand members from more than 140 countries.

“The Night of Museums – 2020”

This year, due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the annual all-Russian action “Museum Night” will be held online.

The theme of the action is the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

As part of the action, the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy prepared a number of online events:

2 p.m. Slide show “How it was …” – photos of past years, telling about the “Night of the Museums” in Vokhm them. I.N. Kramskoy.

6 p.m. Virtual exhibition “Oh, the front-track path”, representing graphic works by front-line correspondent S.D. Legends from the museum funds.

10 p.m. Presentation “Walking through the museum.” Mini-tour of the halls of the museum exposition, accompanied by a senior researcher at the museum Valery Shakin.

The results of the online project # Masterpiece at Home

The project is an analogy to the flash mob #insulation, which gained great popularity in Russia during the period of self-isolation.
Acceptance of work was carried out until May 8.

Voronezh, like the whole country, survived the terrible years of World War II, full of pain and destruction.

Today, looking back, we thank those who defended our homeland and allowed new generations of Russians to appear. Looking back, we call for peace, to prevent a recurrence of the horrors of war.

The Russian people accomplished the greatest feat: they saved their homeland, and also preserved its cultural and scientific heritage.

Employees of the Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy during the war did everything possible to save their collections from invaders.

Themed video presentation will tell about the life of the museum in wartime.

April 20, 2020 celebrates its anniversary the director of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy Olga Alexandrovna Ryabchikova.

A native of Voronezh. Restorer, painter. She graduated from the Voronezh School of Arts (1975), the All-Union Economic University of Arts (1979), Voronezh State University (1998). She worked as a graphic designer, painting teacher.

In 1984-1987 headed the sector of art exposition and advertising at the House of Soviet Science and Culture at the Embassy of the USSR (Berlin, East Germany).

Since 1998, he has been an artist-restorer, since 2003 he has been the head of the VOHM restoration workshop, since 2007 he has been deputy director for science, and since 2018 he has been a director.

The participant of city thematic, all-Russian exhibitions since 1990. Works in the genres of landscape, still life.

Restored about 50 works from the collection of VOHM, including – A.A. Buchkuri, N.A. Kasatkina, K.E. Makovsky, V.A. Milashevsky, P.A. Nilus, N.K. Roerich, L.G. Soloviev, M.L. Shcherbatova, painting by D.G. Cherskikh “Grandfather Koltsov’s House on Chizhovka” for the Regional Literary Museum. I.S. Nikitin, as well as a number of icons for the Alekseevo-Akatov Monastery: “Life-giving spring”, “St. healer Panteleimon “,” Our Lady Soothe My Sorrows. “

Since 1998 – an expert on ancient Russian painting and copper plastics of the Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for the preservation of cultural property.
