Master class Victoria Afanasyeva “Watercolor effects”

November 10, 2019 at the Vokhm named after I.N. Kramskoy held a master class “Watercolor effects” (for adults and children from 7 years).

Under the guidance of the artist Victoria Afanasyeva, the participants got acquainted with various textures in watercolor, which are achieved through the use of improvised material such as cling film.

Each created 2-3 works of A5 and A6 format, in which he tried to combine the techniques “raw”, “dry” and the use of texture.

Reference: Victoria Afanasyeva graduated from the art and graphic department of Voronezh State Pedagogical University. The author of illustrations to the books of V. Slavgorodsky “Voronezh region – the history of animals and birds”, E. Kokurina “The Beginning” and others.

REPRESENT THE EXHIBITION Honored Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts M.V. Fedorova “MARIA FEDOROVA COSTUME THEATER”. Theatrical and decorative art, costume, graphics, collage.

The grand opening of the exhibition will take place on November 19, 2019 at 17.00 in the exhibition hall of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy.

For the first time in Voronezh, an exhibition of works by the Honored Artist of Russia, academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Moscow Union of Artists, the Union of Theater Workers of Russia Maria Fedorova will be held. The exhibition will be held as part of the Year of the Theater in Russia and is included in the work plan of the Department of Theater and Film and Decorative Arts of the Russian Academy of Arts.

Maria Fedorova is known as the author of the conceptual stage costume. The exhibition presents the artist’s works from the collections of the State Central Theater Museum. A.A. Bakhrushin, Lipetsk Regional Art Museum; collections of the Moscow Academic Theater “Russian Song”, the collection of the author. Many of the works were previously shown at exhibitions in Russia, France, USA, China. A number of works exhibited for the first time.

Historically, the costume, along with the scenery, has been and remains one of the main components of the concept of “theater”. The costume combines a dual function: it helps the actor to “get accustomed” to the role and is a means of artistic influence on the viewer. A unique action takes place in the exhibition space of the Museum, in which the Costume plays a major role. He appears before the viewer in sketches and in material, in sheets and on canvases.

The exhibition presents about 100 sketches of costumes, graphic works on the theme of the theater, created by the author since the 1970s.

Spectators will see sketches of costumes for theatrical performances based on works by Russian and Western European authors (A. Ostrovsky, Yu. Olesha, E. Braginsky and E. Ryazanov, V. Merezhko, Lope de Vega); costumes for the concert performance of the ballet “Demon” by the Bolshoi Theater artists; for the artists of the State Orchestra of the RSFSR under the direction of Leonid Utesov.

The center of the exposition is the concert costumes of the artists of the Moscow State Academic Theater “Russian Song” under the direction of the People’s Artist of Russia Nadezhda Babkina. In the costumes “Red Chant”, “Calico”, “Toys”, “Cossack” traced connection with folk wisdom, tradition and eternal values. The first works on folk motives that were created in the early 1970s in the legendary All-Union House of Fashion Models on the Kuznetsk Bridge in Moscow are exhibited in the Fashion section.

A special participant in the exhibition, Daniil Fedorov, the son of Maria Fedorova, a painter, an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts, will present his cycle “Portrait Theater”. These are portraits of outstanding theater figures from the collection of the Bakhrushin Museum and the collection of the author: Alexander Kalyagin, Valery Fokin, Mark Zakharov, Yuri Solomin, Konstantin Raikin, Oleg Basilashvili, Alisa Freindlikh, Vladimir Etush and others.

The exhibition is supplemented by video films: “The process of creating a stage costume”, “Song and dance. Fragments of performances by artists in the original costumes of Maria Fedorova ”,“ Music, ballet and theater in the works of artists of the Osipov – Fedorov dynasty, created over a hundred years. ” Theatrical posters, booklets and programs are presented; catalogs and books; drawings, photographs and documents from the family archive.

The exhibition of theatrical costume by Maria Fedorova, presented in various types of fine art, will be interesting to a wide range of spectators of all ages.

The curator of the exhibition is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia, art critic Galina Bolotskikh. She is the author of numerous exhibitions: works of Russian and foreign professional artists; academic exhibition projects, as well as works from museum collections at various exhibition venues in the country and abroad.

November 24th. Master class “Miracle Angels” (7+)

November 24, 2019 I.N. Kramskoy invites children from 7 years old and adults to the master class “Miracle Angels”, dedicated to the creation of angels from clay.

Under the guidance of ceramist Arkady Chudakov, participants will learn how to form a clay layer, gain skills in connecting parts, and will also work on creating an image of an angel, his outfit and decorative elements.
At the end of the master class, all the angels will go to the master for firing, after which, finished products can be taken home.

The time of the master class is from 12.00 to 14.00.

Opening of the exhibition “On the Land of the Arabs”

October 31 at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy solemnly opened the exhibition “On the Land of the Arabs”, representing the work of academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Oleg Mikhailovich Savostyuk.

In her welcoming remarks, the director of the museum Olga Ryabchikova noted that each exhibition of the master invariably surprises. The current exhibition, striking in its novelty, modernity and color, was no exception. The exhibition has already visited the Kursk Picture Gallery, where it was very successful, and its opening within the walls of the Voronezh Art Museum is, of course, a gift for all residents and guests of the city.

The exhibition was attended by teachers and students of the Voronezh art school, since Oleg Mikhailovich is a permanent participant in the academic plein airs organized by the school’s leadership, as well as the chairman of the school examination committee. The director of the school Sergey Gulevsky emphasized that Oleg Savostyuk is incredibly young in his work, and his new exhibition shows an interesting and emotional art. It is especially pleasant that all the works were created by the artist in Voronezh, and the author is like a fountain of the city and its people.

The presented exposition contains 103 works that reveal the theme of the author’s travels in the countries of the Middle East. The current Arab East is a combination of antiquity and ultramodernity. Chic Mercedes and Audi overtake caravans of camels, and high-speed military aircraft rush in the sky above mosques. Each work that conveys the beauty of the desert, the midday sun, moving caravans is a reflection of today’s life and today’s worldview.
