June 8, 2022, on the birthday of the Russian painter, draftsman, native of the Voronezh Territory Ivan Nikolaevich Kramskoy (1837–1887) at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy opened an exhibition dedicated to the 185th anniversary of the artist’s birth.
The chamber exhibition presents 11 graphic works by Ivan Kramskoy from the museum’s own collections.
At the exhibition you can see rarely exhibited graphic sketches for the paintings of I.N. Kramskoy, created in 1861-1871. Particular attention should be paid to the sketch, made by the artist during the years of study at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, for the competition painting “Oleg’s Campaign to Tsargrad”. The red wax personal seal of the rector of the academy Fyodor Bruni and his own handwritten inscription: “Approved by rector Bruni” have been preserved on the sketch.
The exposition also included a series of sketches for the painting “Mermaids”, written by Kramskoy based on Nikolai Gogol’s story “May Night, or the Drowned Woman” from the cycle “Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka”, which was presented at the first exhibition of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions in St. Petersburg at the end 1871.

June 9 is the birthday of Emperor Peter the Great, the founder of the Russian Navy. A number of festive events have been prepared for Voronezh residents on this day.
On Sovetskaya Square at 17:00, residents and guests of Voronezh are invited to the flash mob “The Glorious Name of Peter”. Participants will read excerpts from the novel by Alexei Tolstoy “Peter the Great”. The Green Theater (Voronezh Central Park) at 17:00 will host a screening of the cartoon “Adventures on Admiralteiskaya Square” by the animation studio “Vizart”. This is a short film about the adventures of the Voronezh cat Vaska and his friend Bulka the puppy. In the cartoon, the crow will send the heroes to the era when Emperor Peter I was just starting to build the first regular Russian navy on the Voronezh River. On Admiralteyskaya Square next to the ship-museum “Goto Predestination” at 21:00 a flash mob “Peter’s Assemblies” will take place with the participation of the Voronezh Regional Museum of Local Lore, the Voronezh Theater of Young Spectators, the FERMATA ensemble of the Voronezh Concert Hall and the historical dance studio “Stone Bridge”. The audience will be presented with the theatrical and poetic sketch “Vivat, Peter!”, Based on the poems of Russian poets about Peter I. In the finale, the Decree of Peter the Great on the construction of the fleet will be read. As part of the Petrovsky Gallery photo project, the most successful photos of visitors with reenactors in 18th century costumes will be immortalized on the website of the Voronezh Regional Museum of Local Lore. And the most active guests of the holiday will be able to learn several dance steps together with the historical dance studio “Stone Bridge”. The atmosphere of an 18th century ball is guaranteed!
