Exhibition “Salt Lakes” (0+)

December 2, 2020

December 16, 2020 on the third floor of the main building of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy will open a photo exhibition by Anton Voronin “Salt Lakes”.

In total, the exposition will feature about 30 artistic photographs created on the Elton salt lakes (Volgograd region) and Baskunchak (Astrakhan region) in the period from 2018 to 2020.

The lakes are located in the steppe. The semi-desert zone with hot and dry summers begins here. Already in May, the steppe changes color from bright green to light green and yellow in just one to two weeks. Springs and small rivers serve as sources of moisture for the lakes, but, nevertheless, the main source is melt water. With the onset of summer, the lakes begin to dry up. Where there was water two or three months ago, vast salt fields remain. The salt, as it were, draws, shows the features of the bottom relief, traces of spring streams running into the lake. This can be seen especially well from a height, so some of the photos were taken from a quadcopter.

The curator of the exhibition and the author of the photographs says this about the idea of his works:

«I was attracted by amazing textures, abstract“ salt drawings ”on the dried bottom of the lake, unusual color.
For me, salt lakes are a whole photo-oasis in the steppe. The land of amazing landscapes and natural abstractions created by melt water, salt, wind and summer heat»

Anton Voronin was born in 1990 in the city of Yuzhnoukrainsk. Graduated from the Physics Department of the Voronezh State University. Member of the Union of Photographers of Russia, the Union of Wildlife Photographers, the Fotum photo club, a graduate of Vladimir Golub’s photography school (2013). Author of personal photo exhibitions “Nature of Beauty” (2015), “Natural Abstractions” (2019), Voronezh, Actor’s House.

The cost of visiting the exhibition is 100 rubles for all categories of visitors.
Members of the Union of Artists and the Union of Photo Artists (upon presentation of a certificate) – free of charge.
Photography: mobile devices, camera (without flash) – free of charge.

Attention! Purchase tickets ONLINE only.

The exhibition will run until December 27, 2020.
