Photo exhibition “Metamorphoses of the visible”

August 16, 2019

August 29, 2019 at 16.00 hours in VOKHM them. I.N. Kramskoy, in the framework of the VI festival of art photography FotumArt, the grand opening of the exhibition of works by the famous Voronezh photographer Vladimir Golub will take place.

The exhibition “Metamorphoses of the Visible” presents about 40 photographs executed in the direction of Fine-Art Photography. The main objective of this direction is the creation of aesthetically significant photographic images, the transmission of a certain emotional mood to the viewer, reflecting the subjective perception of the author, which fundamentally distinguishes “Fine-Art Photography” from “ordinary” photography, which documents specific objects and events.

The project was implemented using computer processing methods in combination with advanced EPSON photo printing technologies, which makes it possible, by varying the formal presentation of photography, to make it more expressive, close to painting and graphic work. This technique allows us to move from a conventional realistic photograph to a more generalized, often almost abstract image of real objects, to an image whose perception is based on the harmony of color spots, lines, texture of graphic elements.

The author is sincerely grateful to Epson Europe B.V. and personally to the head of the Russian mission, Evgeny Dzhaksimov.

VORONEZH: FIRST CONTACT PHOTO PROJECT directed by El Ersburn (12+)

August 20, 2019

September 6, 2019 at the Wohm I.N. Kramskoy will start an exhibition of photographs directed by Al Ersburn .
The project started in September 2015, when, after 16 years of living abroad (Tokyo, New York, Berlin), El Ersburn (née Elena Rodina) arrived in his native city of Voronezh and again entered the Russian language information field. She was attracted by graffiti; she was interested in the topic of anonymous authors.
What unites the primitive people who wrote and painted on the rocks with the people of the 21st century who also write messages to fellow citizens, remaining incognito? Are graffiti a work of art, a cry of the soul, or just an insult to the city? Director Al Ersburn poses these questions to Voronezh residents, city guests and, of course, to herself.
The exposition was composed of 17 photos.

Project supported:

Opening of the exhibition “History of Russian Design 1917–2017”

August 9, 2019

August 8, 2019 at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy opened the exhibition “History of Russian Design 1917-2017.”

The exhibition, prepared by the Moscow Design Museum with the support of SIBUR, within the framework of the social investment program “Formula of Good Deeds”, introduces the history of domestic industrial design over a 100-year period – from avant-garde to the present.

The project presents a unique exhibition uniting about a hundred items, some of which can only be seen as copies of those industrial developments that, for various reasons, were not put into production. In addition, the exhibition will be accompanied by an educational program, including informative lectures on the topic of design and architecture, the speakers of which will be well-known metropolitan specialists, as well as a film screening introducing the design of the USSR period.

In the official part of the opening, in addition to specialists from the Voronezh and Moscow museums, representatives of such organizations as the Department of Culture of the Voronezh Region, the Department for the Development of Entrepreneurship, the Consumer Market and Innovation Policy of the Voronezh City Administration and PJSC SIBUR Holding took part.

It was noted that design is one of the relevant topics in modern life, and it is especially pleasant that the exhibition represents domestic achievements in this area. Undoubtedly, the exhibition will be a great success, it will be interesting not only to residents and visitors of the city, but also to professional professionals.

Many warm words were expressed to the organizers of the exhibition, its curators, the host country in the face of the art museum, thanks to which the exhibition not only arrived in the capital of the Black Earth Region, but also makes it possible to visit the exposition and all educational events held within its framework, free of charge.

At the end of the official part of the opening, all those present could become participants in the curatorial tour conducted by design historian Olga Druzhinina. In addition, guests of the exhibition were provided with special booklets with a detailed description of the project and its exhibits.

August 8, 2019

August 7, 2019 at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy hosted the grand opening of the solo exhibition of the Voronezh photographer Mikhail Kvasov.

The opening of the exhibition began with the words of the head of the exhibition and exhibition department of the museum Oksana Lepneva, who noted that the projects of Mikhail Kvasov invariably reflect life, people and beauty in all its manifestations.

The photographer, a member of the Union of Photographers of Russia Andrei Paukov, emphasized that Mikhail Ivanovich did not change his genre for a quarter of a century, wished the master to maintain his creative potential and continue to delight the audience with his new masterpieces.

Ivan Chukhnov, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, former head of the Voronezh Department of Culture, said in his speech that he was sincerely proud of the local Union of Photographers, whose activity demonstrates the growing level of skill of remarkable photographers, who are quite numerous in Voronezh. And, of course, in addition to numerous exhibitions, one of the most significant moments in the activities of the Union’s regional branch is the publication of various photo albums and books reflecting the history of our city and its people.

Elena Chaplygina, Chairman of the Board of the Voronezh Regional Branch of the Union of Photo Artists of Russia, noted that this project is among the anniversary personal exhibitions dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the creation of the regional association in Voronezh. The exhibition reflects an eternal theme in art, glorifying the beauty of a naked female body, and although the attitude to this topic can be different, there is no doubt one thing – everyone strives for harmony, beauty, something that will be remembered with warmth. Viewers were wished to see behind each photograph, behind each image, the author’s reverent attitude to their models, and to be able to read a certain story related to each individual work.

The author of the works himself was laconic, noting that he was very happy with the event, thanked everyone who had come to the opening and presented the museum with a selection of publications with his works on Voronezh and its inhabitants.
