May 26 at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy held the opening of the exhibition “Modernism”, representing more than 50 paintings and graphic works from a private collection.

In her opening speech, the acting director of the museum, Yulia Zaichenko, introduced the guests of honor of the opening – Yuri and Olga Sidorovs (Lipetsk), who provided works from their own collection. She also noted that such exhibitions are becoming a good tradition.

Yuri Sidorov noted that the presented works make up a small part of the entire collection. For the exhibition, works were selected that most fully reflect the given topic, since the very concept of “modernism” is very broad and includes many areas of fine art. Thus, the exhibition presents all stages of art of the 20th century. Separate words of gratitude were said to the museum and its employees who worked on the construction of the exposition.

Olga Sidorova spoke about the fact that the exhibition also represents the life of the collectors themselves, because looking at the works, memories of acquaintances with many artists, gallery owners, relatives of the authors come to life. All these events made life interesting and varied. Feedback from visitors to the previous exhibition, held a year ago, showed that the audience is absolutely versed in the topic and the exposition found a response in them. The guest also noted that warm relations have developed with the Kramskoy Museum, which pleases and gives hope for continued cooperation.

The exhibition will run until July 24, 2022.
