From April 28, in one of the halls of the permanent exhibition of the museum, an exhibition of one painting will open, representing the work of B.F. Domashnikov “Spring Song” (1968-1969) from the collection of VOKhM im. I.N. Kramskoy.

Domashnikov Boris Fedorovich (1924-2003) – Soviet and Russian painter, People’s Artist of the USSR (1982), Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts (1997).

The youth of the future painter fell on the war years: he worked in art workshops, painted posters and slogans. And in 1945, without any primary education, he entered the Ufa Theater and Art School, where his teachers and senior comrades were P.M. Lebedev, A.E. Tyulkin, V. Turitsyn.

B.F. Domashnikov enjoyed wide popularity since the mid-1950s. His works were exhibited at exhibitions in Ufa, Moscow and Leningrad (1954, 1972), France, England, Holland, Japan, East Germany, Poland and Hungary (1976-1977).

The artist’s work is represented by sonorous and colorful canvases, reflecting his harmonious and sublimely emotional worldview. The visiting card of Boris Domashnikov was birch groves and copses, quivering, permeated with light. The birch grove became forever the subject of his art for the artist and was the reason for the main motive in his paintings – the movement of color and light in nature, their significance in the perception of the life of nature.

The master’s works are in many museum collections and private collections, including the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Academy of Arts, the State Museum of Oriental Arts, the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan and others.

You can get acquainted with the painting with a ticket to the permanent exhibition of the museum.

The exhibition will run until July 31, 2022.
