“And God saw that it was good… And blessed”
Old Testament, Genesis, Ch.1
January 27 at 17.00 in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy, the opening of the exhibition “While the Sun Shines” will take place.
The exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of the Voronezh artist Valentina Sumina will present works of graphics, sculpture, ceramics and painting. The exhibition is interesting not only for the coverage of numerous artistic techniques subject to the artist, but also for a philosophical look at the history of the Voronezh region for more than half a century of creativity.
The artist, who was born into a large peasant family in the Vorobyevsky district of the Voronezh region and began her career with the sculptural department of the Saratov Art School, submitted to both graphics and painting. And even poetry. Sumina’s pottery is a talented song to her native land, in which meadow grasses, ancient faces, and the future of the earth are her children.
The exhibition presents works that reveal the main themes of the artist’s work: love for the motherland, Russian history, admiration for the heroic countrymen, whose exploits still set a high tuning fork for descendants.
For thousands of years the forces of good and evil have been fighting for the soul of man, and through the eyes of an artist-philosopher we see how the divine law flourishes, where love triumphs, and people have not lost their biblical scale. Faith in the divine spark in every person, love for everything that exists – all this is vividly represented in the works of the outstanding Voronezh artist.
As part of the opening, musical works by Voronezh composers based on verses by Valentina Sumina will be presented. Everyone will be able to communicate with the artist and receive a booklet with artwork. The exhibition will be held with the support of NELZHA.RU
