On the eve of everyone’s beloved New Year and on New Year’s holidays VOKHM them. I.N. Kramskoy invites children and adults to exciting events.

Visitors will find a New Year’s project “Following Christmas”, which includes an excursion program, a quest and creative workshops.

Themed excursion “Following Christmas” (14+) is devoted to the reflection of the miracle of the Christmas story in European art, using the example of a copy of the magnificent altar “Adoration of the Magi”, made by the Italian artist Gentile da Fabriano in 1423, presented in the museum. The participants of the excursion will hear a story about the gifts brought by the Magi, the Holy Family and the surname Strozzi, who ordered the altar. Festive decorations specially made for the project, placed in the interiors of the museum, will accompany guests all Christmas days.

Excursion schedule: December 25, 26, 29, 30, January 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9. The excursions start at 16.00.

Adventure game “Winter in the Museum” (6+), associated with museum exhibits, will be available to both young and adult visitors to the museum. Those who correctly answer the questions of the game will get a prize! You can take part in an exciting game with the whole family or on your own.

A series of creative workshops from Voronezh masters:

January 4 at 12.00. Master class “Sketching in the Museum” (12+).
The master-class is conducted by the artist, head of the “Architectural walks” project Nelly Frolova.
Participants will get acquainted with the sketching technique, master its basic techniques and create several sketches of the museum interior.
Duration – 2 hours.
The cost is 400 rubles.

January 5 at 12.00. Master class “Winter’s Tale” (7+).
The master-class is conducted by the artist Victoria Afanasyeva.
The lesson will focus on painting a decorative winter landscape with gouache. Participants will learn about the rules of composition, the sequence of work on a landscape, get acquainted with various methods of working with gouache and examples of decorative processing of natural forms.
Duration – 1.5 hours.
The cost is 350 rubles.

December 26 and January 6 at 12.00. Master class “In Search of the Ancient Garden“ (8+).
The master class is conducted by artist Marina Demchenko.
The inspiration for the works will be the central predella of the replica of Gentile da Fabriano’s altarpiece “Adoration of the Magi” from the museum collection. Participants will talk about the innermost: about the space of fantasy and memory, and draw their own place of power – an imaginary garden – in the spirit of old masters: with restrained colors, on golden A5 paper.
Duration – 2.5 hours.

January 8 at 12.00. Master class “Christmas Angels” (7+).
The master class is conducted by ceramist Arkady Chudakov.
Participants will create festive angels from clay, giving their creations unique features. All products will be fired by the master in a special oven, after which the participants will be able to take them home.

January 9 at 12.00. Master class “Winter on a tree” (7+).
The master class is conducted by the artist, senior researcher of the museum Olga Remez.
Decorations for the Christmas tree, made by hand, conceal not only beauty, but also the warmth of the hands. Participants will create an image of winter on a wooden saw cut with watercolors. Wooden decorations will be a great addition to a Christmas tree or as a gift.
Duration – 2 hours.

The quest and excursion will be an addition to the “Christmas” project.

Adventure game “Secrets of the Palace” will help you to better know the history of the museum and the collections it keeps.

Themed excursion with game elements “World of Silver” (for visitors with children over 6 years old) will acquaint participants with paintings by Russian artists from the museum collection, tell about the main themes of the authors, teach them how to understand the color palette of winter landscapes, and give the opportunity to play.
