From September 16 to December 5, 2021 VOKhM them. I.N. Kramskoy invites you to thematic excursions within the framework of the exhibition “Wanderers. Truth of Life ”dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions and the first exhibition of the Partnership.

The Fellowship of Traveling Art Exhibitions is a key milestone in the development of Russian art. The Wanderers became a symbol of Russian painting of the 19th century. Arose as a reaction to the “dead lifeless art” of the Academy of Arts, the Association of the Wanderers became the most massive and influential artistic association in the history of Russia. Never – neither before nor after that – the art of Russian artists was so close and understandable to the masses. In the ranks of the Itinerants, the brightest stars of Russian painting lit up and shone forever: Perov, Ge, Kramskoy, Myasoedov, Surikov, Levitan, Polenov and many others. These masters raised the bar of Russian painting to unprecedented heights. In their paintings, the artists reflected the pressing problems of our time, the life of the Russian countryside, the history of Russia, their native nature, created a gallery of portraits of Russian writers, composers, public figures, and their fellow artists. The content of their works, as well as the creative method – realism, were close and understandable to the common people.

The thematic excursion will acquaint visitors with various stages of the development of the Association of Traveling Exhibitions and a whole galaxy of talented and eminent Russian artists. The conversation will focus on the main genres in the work of the Wanderers, the peculiarities of the artistic style of artists, as well as the contribution of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions to the treasury of national culture.

Excursion service cost:

Individual excursion service (60 minutes, 1-5 people) – 200 rubles / 1 person. (+ Entrance ticket to the exhibition)
Group excursion (60 minutes, from 6 people) – 100 rubles / 1 person. (+ entrance ticket to the exhibition)

The cost of entrance tickets to the exhibition “Wanderers. Life truth”:

Full ticket – 300 rubles.
Preferential (pensioners, schoolchildren, students) upon presentation of the relevant document – 200 rubles.

You can buy a ticket to the exhibition using the Pushkin card (the ticket is valid upon presentation of an identity document).
