June 6 in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy in the framework of the VIII International Platonov Festival of Arts held the opening of two exhibition projects.
The grand opening of the exhibition “Fernand Leger. The poetics of modernity “began with the words of the artistic director of the festival Mikhail Bychkov that cooperation with the State Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin, who provided the exhibition, has been going on for several years. The novelty of the festival’s art program this year is that for the first time in the framework of the festival the works of a foreign artist are presented, unlike the previous programs dedicated to Soviet and Russian artists.
The words of gratitude to the festival and the museum were heard from the lips of the deputy director, the main curator of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin’s Tatyana Potapova. Tatiana Vladimirovna also noted the fact of good cooperation, emphasized the peculiarity of the present exhibition, and also made a parallel between two personalities – Andrei Platonov and Fernand Leger, who lived and worked at the same time.

Pushkin Varvara Zamakhaeva told the audience about the personality of Fernand Leger, who lived surrounded by great artists, but managed to find his special niche in art. Varvara Evgenievna also told about the tactile copies presented at the exhibition, reproducing the artist’s works, A.S. Pushkin conducted a lot of work with visitors with particular health.
After a series of interviews that the Moscow guests gave to the Voronezh media, the program continued with the opening of the exhibition “The Industrial World through the Eyes of Alexander Rodchenko”, representing the photographs of the famous master A.Rodchenko from the Multimedia Art Museum collection (Moscow).
Mikhail Bychkov noted that the exhibition works tell about the era of the consonant era of Platonov, the hobbies of the technical nature, the author’s dreams of transforming the world and the paintings of Moscow, which Andrei Platonov, who moved from Voronezh to the capital, described.
On behalf of the director of the MAMM, the curator of the exhibition Olga Sviblova, a welcome letter was sent in which the well-known art critic thanked for the opportunity to demonstrate the work of the authors – contemporaries of Andrei Platonov.
In the final part of the opening, Mikhail Bychkov expressed gratitude to the VOKHM. I.N. Kramskoy for the help in organizing the exhibition, noting the high professionalism of the museum staff and his management, and wished everyone present a wonderful mood and pleasant impressions from the meeting with the beautiful.
