Lecture "Peter the Great on the Voronezh land"

On November 19 at 15:00, within the framework of the All-Russian exhibition of contemporary artists “The Link of Generations”, a lecture “Peter the Great on the Voronezh land” will be held.

In 2022, the 350th anniversary of the birth of the first Russian Emperor Peter Alekseevich was celebrated. Peter I’s transformations touched upon various spheres of life of Russian society. During the reign of the emperor, the city of Voronezh became the most important object on the political map for several years.

At the lecture, you will learn about what the territory of the modern Voronezh Region has been like since ancient times. How the Voronezh fortress developed from the moment of its foundation until the end of the XVII century. What changes and processes took place in Voronezh under the influence of the turbulent activity deployed by Peter on the southern borders of the Russian Kingdom.
