On November 10, the museum will open the exhibition “The History of Beautiful Dolls” (0+).

The exposition is based on antique dolls from the collection of Svetlana Pchelnikova, collected and restored by her for the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoye Selo.

Svetlana Pchelnikova is an artist, collector, philanthropist, laureate of the Russian Government Prize in the field of culture.

The exhibition is complemented by modern author’s dolls by artists who, paying tribute to the past, create masterpieces of puppet art.
The exposition will present: “Renaissance of antique dolls” by Lyubov Fartushnaya from Krasnodar, models of the famous Bru company; charismatic angels by Marina Ovcharenko from Kaluga; fabulous and mysterious dolls by Tatiana Veles from the city of Nadym, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug; characteristic images from a world-renowned puppeteer from Voronezh Larisa Gutseva.

In total, more than 60 unique exhibits will be presented at the exhibition.

Also on the opening day of the exhibition, Svetlana Pchelnikova presents her book “The History of the Doll”, on which she worked for several years together with specialists from the Alexander Palace in Tsarskoye Selo and the Livadia Palace in the Crimea.
