On August 3, the museum will open the fourth exhibition of the series “Opening Funds” this year. This time the viewer will see the graphics of artists of the late XIX – early XX century. The exposition is dedicated to the creative work of the students of the founder of one of the private French academies, Rodolphe Julian.

In 1868, in Paris, the French painter and teacher Rodolphe Julian founded a private school of painting and sculpture, which later received the name “academy”. This private studio aimed to prepare aspiring artists for admission to official art schools. Therefore, Rodolphe Julian invited teachers from major state art institutions – the Higher National School of Fine Arts, the Institute of Fine Arts.

The peculiarity of the Julian Academy was that female artists were accepted for training, while the doors of the School of Fine Arts – the center of art education in France – were closed to female representatives.

About 10 works will be presented at the exhibition.

Visiting the exhibition is carried out with a ticket to the permanent exhibition of the museum.

The exhibition will last until September 18, 2022.
