An exhibition from the collection of the Voronezh Museum opened in Ostrogozhsk

May 27 at the Ostrogozhsk Historical and Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy, the opening of the exhibition “Bringing Art to People” took place. The exhibition is dedicated to the 185th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding painter and teacher Ivan Kramskoy.

The exhibition presents about 40 works of painting and graphics from the collection of VOKhM them. I.N. Kramskoy, created by artists of the 19th century: Ilya Repin, Alexei Bogolyubov, Viktor Vasnetsov, Konstantin Makovsky, Andrei Schilder and many other artists. The focus is on drawings and engravings by Ivan Kramskoy.

The vernissage was attended by the staff of the Ostrogozhsk children’s art school, as well as many connoisseurs of fine art. The host of the evening, researcher Evgenia Izotova, reminded the guests of the importance of Ivan Nikolaevich’s creative, pedagogical and social activities for Russian art. Ostrogozhians of several generations are well acquainted with the works of I.N. Kramskoy and other outstanding painters, kept in the museum from the day of its foundation.

Marina Pilipenko, director of the Ostrogozhsky Museum, noted that the exhibition is the best way to honor the memory of the great countryman-painter. The temporary exhibition provides an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the original works of the best Russian artists.

Employees of VOHM them. I.N. Kramskoy – acting director Yulia Zaichenko and head of the exposition and exhibition department Oksana Lepneva spoke about the preparatory work and selection of works for the exposition.
All the speakers wished the young artists to consider the exhibition works slowly and thoughtfully in order to learn to understand the individual author’s style.

The decoration of the vernissage was concert performances performed by pupils of the Ostrogozhsk children’s art school – Gleb Volotov (button accordion) and Ruslan Ukibaev (poetry).

The exhibition will run until June 25, 2022.
