Lecture “Ancient Greek theater and its mysterious character” (12+)
The theater, the dawn of which falls on the V century BC, originated from the mysteries of Eleusis – a city that was close to Athens culturally and geographically. Every century has used ancient plots in literature and drama in its own way. But what is the universality of the eternal plots in the comedies of Aristophanes, the tragedies of Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides?
At the meeting, the guests will learn about the nature of the ancient Greek theater, its attributes and the mystery component.
The lecturer is a senior researcher at the museum, Yuri Malik.
Number of participants: up to 20 people.

Lecture-conversation “Saints Peter and Fevronia are the patrons of the family” (6+)
A strong family is not only a solid foundation of the social structure, but also the guardian of the cultural, historical and spiritual heritage of Russia. One of the most outstanding historical examples of a successful marriage, revealed by compatriots in the past, is the union of Peter and Fevronia Muromsky, who lived in the city of Murom, Vladimir region, around the XII–XIII centuries. At the lecture, guests will learn about the history of the couple and what traits are associated with the ideal of matrimony. The guests will be told that Peter and Fevronia showed an example of piety, mutual love, loyalty, performing works of mercy and caring for their fellow citizens.

At the meeting, the guests will learn about the work of the students of the great Dutch painter, whose art greatly influenced the Dutch art of the XVII century. Using the example of works from the museum’s collection, participants will talk about the peculiarities of the creative process that united teachers and students.
