In March 2022 Voronezh said goodbye to two wonderful artists
Dmitrienko Vasily Tikhonovich (06.03.1942 – 19.03.2022)
Dikunov Ivan Pavlovich (14.04.1941 – 25.03.2022)
Vasily Dmitrienko – graphic artist, member of the Union of Artists (1975), Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2007). The artist worked in various genres of fine art: in landscape, in portrait, subject-themed easel composition, creating an extensive gallery of works telling about people of labor – railway workers, miners, steelworkers, submariners, border guards. His numerous drawings, watercolors recreated the architectural appearance of cities, the beauty of nature in Russia and other countries.
The funds of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy contain more than 30 graphic works by Vasily Tikhonovich, made in the 1980s.
Ivan Dikunov is a sculptor, laureate of the RSFSR State Prize, honorary citizen of the Voronezh Region, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, and just a legend of our region. Together with his wife Elsa Nikolaevna Pak, artists have been creating an amazing image of Voronezh sculpture for more than 50 years; many of the works of the creative union have become real business cards of the city – monuments to Alexander Pushkin, Andrei Platonov, Bim, and the Kitten from Lizyukov Street…
The museum’s collection contains two works by Ivan Pavlovich Dikunov, created jointly with his wife in 1984: “In the bathhouse” (wood) and “I.S. Nikitin” (bronze).
The staff of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy deeply mourns the departure of the artists and expresses sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of Vasily Tikhonovich and Ivan Pavlovich.
