On March 17, 2022, the museum and exhibition complex of the Academy of Watercolors and Fine Arts of Sergey Andriyaka (Moscow) hosted the grand opening of the art exhibition “Discovering Forgotten Names. Alexander Buchkuri.

The exhibition presents 40 paintings and graphic works from the collection of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy, exhibited in Moscow for the first time.

The mission of the exhibition is to return to the wide audience the undeservedly forgotten name of a talented and bright artist, a student of I.E. Repin.

The Voronezh Territory is the small homeland of the artist A.A. Buchkuri. After completing his studies at the Academy of Arts, the young painter returned home, where he devoted himself entirely to creativity: he created a whole gallery of bright, characteristic portrait images of Voronezh residents, reflected in his works the details and features of local life.

The exposition was opened by the rector of the Academy Sergey Andriyaka, with a welcoming speech and a story about the artist’s work, the scientific secretary of the Voronezh Regional Museum N. E. Bakina, the curator of the project B. A. Sharov, art critic V. E. Kalashnikov spoke.

The exhibition will run until July 3, 2022.
