The reign of Peter the Great is the most relevant for modern Russia. Peter carried out reforms that changed the way of life, the pace of life, the state structure and key vectors of the country’s development.

Taking into account the significance of the personality of Peter I for the history of Russia and in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of October 25, 2018 No. 609 on the celebration of the 350th anniversary of the birth of Peter I, the Russian Military Historical Society announced the All-Russian Youth Creative Competition “The Image of Peter the Great” (VELIKIYPETR.RF).

The partners of the competition are Rosmolodezh, the Tavrida art cluster, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russia Today media group, the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, ANO Russia is a Land of Opportunities, the Russian Society Znaniye, Rospatriottsentr, the Foundation for Humanitarian Projects, the Russian Academy of Arts, the Union of Artists of Russia, Union of Restorers of Russia, Student Coordinating Council of Russia.

Held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The competition is aimed at supporting the youth art of the country, popularizing national history, strengthening the historical and cultural ties between generations and reflecting the view of contemporaries on the personality of Peter the Great, on the significance of his reforms for modern Russia.

Competition nominations: paintings, sculptural works, arts and crafts, literary works, street art works (graffiti, various sculptural installations), new forms (works using IT technologies, including videos and animations).

Applications are accepted until June 1, 2022 inclusive. The competition is held in two stages. Participants who successfully passed the first stage are notified by the organizers of the need to provide original works, and are also invited to exhibit the latter at one of the federal exhibition sites.

The results of the competition will be announced on September 15, 2022. As an incentive, the winners of the competition in each nomination in the age category from 14 to 17 years old will receive cutting-edge tablets for education and development, in the age category from 18 to 35 years old – cash rewards. In addition, all winners of the competition will be invited to participate as guests of honor at one of the All-Russian Youth Public Platforms.

Young people between the ages of 14 and 35 can apply to participate in the competition.
