The Museum has opened exhibitions of the XI Platonov Arts Festival

June 3 at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy, two exhibitions of the XI International Platonov Festival of Arts were solemnly opened: “Jack of Diamonds. Emanations of isms “and” Arkady Shaikhet. Time Witness. Photos 1924-1940 “.

The first part of the opening day was devoted to the exhibition of works by artists “Jack of Diamonds” from the collection of seven Russian museums: the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Saratov State Art Museum. A.N. Radishchev, Kursk State Art Gallery named after A.A. Deineka, Ryazan State Regional Art Museum. I.P. Pozhalostin, Tula Regional Art Museum, Yaroslavl Art Museum.

In her welcoming speech, the head of the department of culture of the Voronezh region Maria Mazur congratulated everyone on the start of the festival and noted that the Platonov festival is the face of the modern world.

The artistic director of the festival, Mikhail Bychkov, shared his emotions about the opportunity to realize an old dream – to show the Voronezh public the works of the “Jack of Diamonds” artists. Separate words of gratitude were said to the art museum, which has been a constant partner throughout the festival years.

Director of the Voronezh Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy Olga Ryabchikova gave a brief overview of the exhibition. She said that despite the fact that the work on the creation of the exhibition was not easy, partly because the composition of the artistic association itself was complex and contradictory, everything worked out.

The honorary guest of the opening was the director of the Kursk State Picture Gallery. A.A. Deineki Igor Pripachkin. He stressed that residents of Voronezh can be proud of their city and the Platonov Festival.

As part of the opening of the exhibition “Arkady Shaikhet. Time Witness. Photos 1924-1940 ”Mikhail Bychkov noted that the festival continues to reveal the Platonov era for today’s viewer through plastic art, music, and, of course, through the art of photography. And this year, within the framework of the festival, residents of Voronezh and guests of the city will see a personal exhibition (95 works) of the outstanding master of photography Arkady Shaikhet.

The granddaughter of Arkady Shaikhet, Maria Zhotikova-Shaikhet, who is the chief custodian of the photographer’s archive, spoke at the opening. She shared her memories of the famous relative and noted the high level of the festival.

Festival exhibitions will run until July 25, 2021.
