Artistry, improvisation, lightness, and also irony, poignant expressiveness of the image. These qualities are inherent in the drawings and paintings of Vladimir Alekseevich Milashevsky (1893 – 1976), who created outstanding cycles of illustrations for the Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club by Charles Dickens, Pushkin’s fairy tales and many other literary works.

Possessing the talent of a writer and storyteller, Milashevsky left an interesting memoir, where he reflected an episode of the creation of a portrait of I. Babel. Now this sheet is kept in the collection of the Voronezh Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy.

The exhibition tells about the creation of drawing and the artistic method of V. Milashevsky.
