August 20, 2020 at VOKhM named after I.N. Kramskoy, a personal exhibition of the Voronezh graphic artist Denis Bulavintsev began its work.

The exhibition “Bear Alphabet” presents more than 60 works made in the technique of linocut. The works reminiscent of “folk pictures” – lubok, in an ironic and humorous manner play up the ideas of foreigners about the Russian people and Russian traditions. The main character of each work is a humanized bear, who finds himself in different situations and conflicts.

The bear is also present in the title work of the Icarus series, which reveals the theme of flight over the earth and at the same time shows the earth from a height and a look from the earth to the heavens.

The author, who deliberately sharpened the satirical effect counting on the viewer’s emotional reaction, insists that the content of the works is completely fictional and has nothing to do with reality.

The first visitors to the exhibition received souvenirs – author’s thematic postcards.

Visiting the exhibition is possible at certain times of the sessions until September 27 of the current year.
