April 24, 2019 at 14.00 hours in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskogo will be a solemn transfer of the picture of the People’s Artist of the RSFSR, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Oleg Mikhailovich Savostyuk “House of Turgenev in Buzhival” as a gift to the Orlovsky State Literary Museum of I.S. Turgenev.

Life I.S. Turgenev from the late 1840s flowed between Russia and France. Acquaintance with the French singer Polina Viardot, friendship with French writers, musicians and artists spawned the classic writer with France, which became his second home. A wonderful creative atmosphere filled with poetry, music, and art has developed in the Bougivali, at the Yarseni villa in Turgenev. Here the writer spent the last days and hours of his life. For the Turgenev Museum in Orel, the Yasen Villa, which currently houses the Turgenev Museum in Europe, is the most important place that preserves the spirit of the writer. For more than half a century, friendly relations have been supported by the museum team with the director of the Villa Turgenev in Buzhival, Sorbonne professor Alexander Yakovlevich Zvigilsky.

In Russian fine art there are a lot of paintings devoted to Turgenev sites, but Oleg Mikhailovich Savostyuk is the only Russian artist who has depicted Turgenev’s house in France.

The eagle is the small homeland of the great writer, who retains everything connected with the name of Turgenev, the famous artist of the word who gave us a great sense of beauty, inalienable from love for the Fatherland and pride in it. In the museum of I.S. Turgenev, founded in 1918 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the writer’s birth, is actively collecting work of the Turgenev heritage; more than seventeen thousand items of museum objects are accumulated in the writer’s fund. And each receipt is significant and valuable!

The year 2019 is a time of comprehending the results of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the great humanist writer, the “envoy of Russian literature in Europe,” who contributed to the rapprochement of Russian and European cultures, people of different countries and peoples.

It should be noted that the undoubted decoration of the renewed exposition of the museum of I.S. Turgenev in Orel became the author’s lamp “Magic Lantern”, the faces of which are stained glass windows depicting scenes from the collection of stories “Notes of a Hunter” by I.S. Turgenev and remind the images on the front door at the writer’s dacha in Buzhival, which created the atmosphere of the presence of the motherland in the last refuge of I.S. Turgenev.

In the program of the meeting:

– presentation of the director of the Oryol State Literary Museum I.S. Turgenev Vera Vitalevny Efremova on events dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of I.S. Turgenev;
– audio recordings of poems in the prose of I.S. Turgenev (performed by actress Alice Koonen);
– the word of the People’s Artist of the RSFSR, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Oleg Mikhailovich Savostyuk.
