Opening day of the exhibition "Pirelli Calendar 2018. Tim Walker"

January 31 in VOKM them. I.N. Kramsky hosted the opening day of the exhibition “Pirelli Calendar 2018. Tim Walker.”

The exhibition, which presents photographs of one of the most famous calendars in the world, is a joint project of VOKM them. I.N. Kramskoy, company Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow and the company Pirelli.

During the opening ceremony, the director of the museum Olga Ryabchikova introduced the guests to the concept of creating a Pirelli calendar, created by famous photographers of the world involving stars from the film industry, the world of fashion, and art. Olga Alexandrovna noted that the 2018 Pirelli calendar, which became the photo-screening of Lewis Carroll’s fairy tale “Alice in Wonderland”, is not a direct illustration of L. Carroll’s work, but a theme for the interpretation of the realities of our time embodied by photographer Tim Walker.

The format of the exhibition gives the general public a unique opportunity to get to know live with the wonderful works of world authors, since the calendar itself is produced in limited edition, not sold and distributed only among the partners and friends of the company.

Olga Alexandrovna stressed that such exhibitions are very popular now in Russia and the Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy glad to represent her in Voronezh. In addition, the exhibition has become another link in strengthening friendly and creative ties with the Voronezh Tire Plant, representing Pirelli in the region.

Many interesting facts about the author of the works of the Pirelli Calendar 2018 – photographer Tim Walker told the head of the Voronezh photographic center “Photum” Vladimir Golub. According to the photographer, knowledge of the style and creative manner of the author, familiarity with his biography contribute to a better understanding of the concept of his work. Vladimir Alexandrovich thanked the management of the museum and the company Pirelli for the opportunity to admire the beautiful photos of the paintings of Tim Walker – one of the world’s best photographers.

Of particular interest to the guests of the exhibition was a specially created thematic photo zone framed with red and white roses, the main character of which was a charming rabbit – the hero of “Alice in Wonderland”.

The exhibition will run until March 17, 2019.
