Report on the conduct of museum master classes in painting and graphics

On November 13, 2016, the Children’s Museum Center “Orangerie” began a six-year cycle of classes on graphics and painting for couples with children from eight to fifteen years old. Classes are conducted by the staff of the scientific and educational department of the museum together with the Voronezh artist, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia Valery Alekseyevich Semenov. Currently, the museum held three classes from this cycle on different topics:

– November 13 – Introductory lesson “In the artist’s workshop – painter”;

– November 27 – “Composition in drawing and painting (pencil, watercolor, pastel)”;

– December 11 – “Drawing (sketches of a figure of a man, a city landscape)”.

The lesson consists of theoretical and practical parts. In the first part of the lesson, children and parents learn about such kinds of fine arts as graphics and painting, get acquainted with the materials and tools of the artist, visit the museum exposition. The second part of the lesson allows participants to create their first masterpieces under the guidance of an experienced master.
