Exhibition for the 95th anniversary of the birth of the artist.

January 21, 2016 at 16.00 on the third floor of the permanent exhibition in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. The exhibition of Voronezh painter, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, the only artist of our city who received the high title People’s Artist of the RSFSR, Mikhail Ivanovich Likhachev (1919-1997), will open in Kramskoy.

Mikhail Ivanovich was born in the village of Babyakovo near Voronezh. He studied in the art studio “Food” at Alexander Buchkuri. Then he worked as a decorator at the Voronezh Drama Theater and the artist of the mobile theater. In 1939, having passed examinations at the Voronezh Art School, Likhachev was immediately drafted into the Red Army. From the first days of the war he took part in battles. After the war he continued his education with B. Ioganson. Since 1946, Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Since 1948, Likhachev has been a regular participant of virtually all major national and all-Russian art exhibitions taking place in Moscow.

Likhachev’s works have gained wide popularity and were repeatedly reproduced. Among them – “Our came” (1948), “Toast for the heroine of labor” (1949), “Beetroot” (1959), “Troubled 20’s” (1967). The most famous portraits: “Lenin in Razliv” (1960), “Portrait of the actor A.Chernov” (1947), “Portrait of the artist R.A. Manukovskaya “(1962),” Portrait of the writer I.V. Sidelnikova “(1979).

Pictures of MI. Likhachev are in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramskoy and in private collections. The exhibition will last until March 20. The price of the entrance ticket is included in the price for the permanent exposition of the museum.

At the opening of the exhibition will also be presented a book dedicated to the artist’s work, published at the expense of Voronezh philanthropist Bubnov AA.
