Russian Egypt “is an amazing phenomenon that unites the destinies of compatriots who visited the banks of the Nile, the history of the collections they collected, works of outstanding writers of the eighteenth and twentieth centuries, and finally masterpieces of art in which the images of Ancient Egypt were refracted by domestic architects and painters.
Following the first Russian travelers of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, together with the famous Russian Egyptologist Victor Solkin, we will slowly open the Pyramid Country for ourselves, see masterpieces of art from Russian state and private collections and, in search of answers to eternal questions about time, man and art, let us turn to the heartfelt lines of Ivan Bunin, Vasily Rozanov, Maximilian Voloshin, Mikhail Kuzmin, Anna Akhmatova and other great Russian artists, shaken by the grandeur and grace of the Egyptian heritage of the pharaohs.
