Kiselev Alexander Alexandrovich

Without finishing the course in the St. Petersburg cadet corps, he entered the University of St. Petersburg in 1858. After the closure of the University of St. Petersburg began to attend classes of the Imperial Academy of arts, as volnoprihodyaschego student (studied with S. M. Vorobyov).

Having received from the Academy a large silver medal and the title of class artist of article III, joined the Association “Wanderers”, in exhibitions which since then and participated almost annually. He worked in Moscow, very often making trips to different places in Russia to create studies for his paintings, perfectly convey nature in different seasons and hours of the day, with a different state of the atmosphere. Later he wrote kinds Caucasus, which had great and Merited success.

In 1906 he became one of the founders of the Northern circle of lovers of fine arts in Vologda. Thanks to the authority of A. A. Kiselev, the members of the circle managed to establish ties in St. Petersburg and to attract artists of the Academy of arts to participate in their exhibitions.

In 1902 Kiselev, built a house in Tuapse. Struck by the beauty of the local scenery, he wrote for several years only the neighborhood.

Alexander Kiselev worked fruitfully until the end of his life, creating his beautiful landscapes. His works are kept in many large museums of the country, and the house-Museum of the artist is organized in Tuapse.

The artist died on January 20, 1911 in St. Petersburg.
