A sculpture from the museum collection is presented at an exhibition in the "Manezh" (St. Petersburg)

On March 24, 2021, the inter-museum art exhibition “(In) mobility. Russian classical sculpture from Shubin to Matveyev ”.

The project was prepared by the Manege and the State Russian Museum in partnership with the State Hermitage and the State Tretyakov Gallery, with the support of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg, as well as with the participation of the Mariinsky Theater, the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts and 32 leading Russian museums, in cooperation with an autonomous non-profit organization on the development of art and culture “Free Artists” (ANO “CX”).

The Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after V.I. I.N. Kramskoy. The museum provided from its own collection a marble bust of Alexander I, made by the outstanding Russian sculptor Fedot Ivanovich Shubin in 1802.

In total, the exhibition includes over 150 unique sculptural works created by 65 sculptors, and among the works are not only recognized masterpieces, but also works that have practically not been exhibited before.

During the exhibition, the catalog “Russian Classical Sculpture from Shubin to Matveyev” will be published, which maximally conveys the beauty of sculpture, presenting each work in artistic photographs made from several angles and with attention to detail.
