Museum classes and lectures as part of the Platonov Festival exhibition



During the exhibition “Alexander Drevin and Nadezhda Udaltsova. Painting, Graphics ”for adult visitors (over 16 years old), the museum will host thematic museum classes and lectures.


The structure of the classes will be divided into three thematic blocks, each of which is dedicated to a certain period of creativity of artists N. Udaltsova and A. Drevin

Lesson “Hard gray”
September 17 and 24 at 18.00.

Using the works of the avant-garde artist Alexander Drevin as an example, the participants will create landscapes in which tone will become the main means of expression. They will write sketches in a color scheme uncharacteristic for depicting nature, and will focus on variations of one color – gray. They will mix colors and look for the necessary shades to create an unusual artistic image.

Lesson “Getting to know Cubism”
September 18 and 25 at 16.00

Let’s talk about one of the trends in art that emerged at the beginning of the 20th century – Cubism. Let’s get acquainted with the works of the artist N. Udaltsova who worked in this direction for some time. Let’s try to draw real objects by decomposing them into geometric shapes. Let’s create a still life in the style of “cubism” using gouache.

Lesson “Draw autumn flowers”
September 19 and 26 at 16.00

Autumn flowers are always admired for their charm and tenderness. In the lesson, we will try to capture their outgoing beauty by capturing them on paper using gouache. Having set a clear composition, we will create sketches from nature with textured expressive strokes. We will reveal the secrets of a harmonious still life, we will learn how to add volume to flowers and convey depth in a bouquet.

Classes are taught by Olga Remez, a senior researcher at the museum, artist, teacher. Graduated from the Voronezh Art School (technical school). He is fluent in various graphic and painting techniques. An active participant in exhibitions, creative competitions and plein airs.

Duration of each lesson: 90 minutes
