The Lipetsk region is historically connected with the Voronezh region, and therefore it is no coincidence that the anniversary exhibition of the Voronezh artist is timed to events dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the formation of the Lipetsk region.

Over the years of creativity, Vasily Krivoruchko addressed various topics. In the early 1950s, the artist worked in the genre of socialist realism – he painted portraits of workers, paintings of everyday labor in factories and collective farms. V.P. Krivoruchko traveled to villages and villages of the region, where with great inspiration he created portraits of drummers and advanced workers, paying great attention to conveying the nature of his models, demonstrating their personal qualities.

In the 1960-1970s, the artist traveled a lot with his wife, artist K.N. Assumption. At this time, Vasily Pavlovich worked in different styles, using a wide variety of materials. In 1966-1967, the artist was finally formed in the choice of a theme that he had not changed until the end of his life – this is the history of Russia and Russia, Christian motives. It was this big topic that formed the basis of the exhibition “My Russia”.

The artist’s works are based on a deep understanding of Russian culture and art. Every year V.P. Krivoruchko took trips to ancient Russian cities, studied literary sources. The artist’s paintings depict historical and architectural monuments – cathedrals, Old Russian churches, belfries, streets of ancient cities, landscapes reflecting the beauty of Russian nature. The works were created in a vivid pictorial manner inherent in V.P. Krivoruchko.

The exposition includes 63 paintings and graphic works of the time period from 1950 to 1993.

The exhibition will run on February 9, 2020.
