The lecture was based on the theme of evolutionary design. On the example of objects from the collection of chairs and armchairs of industrial design of the twentieth century, the lecturer identified the basic ideas that underlie the masterpieces of furniture design, and showed the transformation of these ideas for many hundreds of years. Listeners learned about the peculiarities of Russian design, the development of which was directly related to changes in the socio-economic development of the country, and about what formed the basis of the so-called “Correct” and “reasonable” design.
