Opening of the exhibition "Orthodox architecture in the works of Voronezh artists"

November 3, 2017 at 14.00 in the exhibition hall of the VOKHM them. I.N. The solemn opening of the exhibition “Orthodox Architecture in the Art of Voronezh Artists” was held in Kramskoye.

The organizers of the exhibition were: Voronezh Regional Art Museum. I.N. Kramsk, Voronezh Diocesan Administration, Voronezh State Technical University, Voronezh Art College, Voronezh Provincial Nobility Assembly, Voronezh Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Movement “For Faith and Fatherland”.

The exhibition consisted of more than 40 works, among which there are works performed in various techniques (painting, drawing, engraving). The works convey the beauty of God’s Temples, the picturesqueness of the places in which they are located.

Among the exhibitors are famous Voronezh artists, as well as students of Voronezh State Institute of Arts, Voronezh State Technical University, Voronezh State Pedagogical University and Voronezh Art School.

With the word of greetings and blessings from Metropolitan Voronezh and Liskin of Sergia, the secretary of the Voronezh diocese, archpriest Andrey Skakalin addressed all present. He noted: “It is very joyful that a lot of young artists take part in the exhibition, because temple architecture is a special area of ​​culture and the temple has great significance in the life of every Orthodox person.”

From the Department of Culture of the Administration of the Urban District of Voronezh, the leading specialist of the Department of Educational Activities and Cultural Heritage, Nikolai Komolov, said: “The theme of Orthodox architecture is especially relevant, given the revival of people’s interest in this topic, and it is deeply symbolic that this exhibition opens on the eve of the Day of national unity, called to unite the whole Russian people spiritually and morally. ”

One of the main organizers of the exhibition – the candidate of architecture, the professor, the head of the department of design of the VSTU Evgeny Mikhailovich Barsukov, explained: “The emphasis in this exhibition is on the creativity of young, young artists, those who begin to comprehend life, master professional skills.” In addition, Yevgeny Mikhailovich also expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership of the VOKHM. I.N. Kramskoy for the opportunity to show the exhibition works in the museum space, in the neighborhood with the works of the outstanding artist Ivan Kramskoy, the famous artist Ksenia Uspenskaya. This neighborhood gives an opportunity to understand whether the traditions of painting and graphics are preserved today, and how young artists master these traditions and convey, perceiving the beauty of Orthodox churches.

The exhibition will last until November 26, 2017.
