May 17 at the VOKHM them. I.N. The exhibition “Image of Nefertiti” was opened in Kramskoy. The exhibition was organized by the library. M.A. Voloshin CBS CAO and the workshop of Eduard Agapov (Moscow).

Sculptural portrait of Queen Nefertiti – one of the most significant and famous works of world art. On December 6, 1912, the German archaeologist Ludwig Borchardt, who worked on the ruins of one of the capitals of Ancient Egypt, the city of Ahetaton (modern Al-Amarna), discovered his main find – the image of Nefertiti in a tall blue wig, created in the workshop of sculptor Thutmose in the 14th century BC .e.

Exported from Egypt, the sculptural portrait eventually took its place in the Egyptian Museum of Berlin, and never leaves it. In December 2016, based on a three-dimensional scan performed at the Berlin Museum in Moscow, a team of masters led by the artist Eduard Agapov and the famous Russian Egyptologist Viktor Solkin created a high-precision copy of the sculptural portrait of Nefertiti, recognized as the best of the existing copies of the great masterpiece. The image of Nefertiti became the pearl of the collection of the library named after M.A. Voloshin. It was planned that he, like the original, would not leave his exhibition place, but an exception was made for Voronezh because of the long-standing friendship of the I.N. Kramskoy and the library named after M.A. Voloshin.

Sculptural portrait of Nefertiti in the Higher School of Art named after I.N. Kramskoy exhibited in the hall of ancient art. Especially for the exhibition in Voronezh, a podium was made, which allows you to view Nefertiti from all sides, which is impossible in a museum in Berlin. In Voronezh, visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to see the image of the queen at a distance of several dozen centimeters.

Initially, it was planned that the image of Nefertiti will stay in Voronezh until June 10, but it was decided to extend the period of its exposure until June 18.

The entrance fee for the exhibition is included in the ticket price for the main exhibition.

The cost of an individual visit to the exhibition (halls of ancient Egyptian and ancient art) – 100 rubles for all categories of visitors.
